The Illinois Ag Dept. illegally seized privately owned bees from renowned naturalist, Terrence Ingram, without providing him with a search warrant and before the court hearing on the matter, reports Prairie Advocate News.
Behind the obvious violations of his Constitutional rights is Monsanto. Ingram was researching Roundups effects on bees, which hes raised for 58 years. They ruined 15 years of my research, he told Prairie Advocate, by stealing most of hisstock.

If true and Monsanto played a part, recommend moving all of Monsanto's patents into the public domain, by act of Congress...

< Stock up on non-hybrid, heirloom seeds that grow plants that produce seeds! Eventually, theyll be hard to find. >
And where does one find those seeds? I bought some at Walmart by Ferry Morse that say “ certified 100% Organic” on them. Is that the same?
So if you buy produce at the grocery store and save those seeds, do they grow? So many questions!
Hell, I’d invest in him and his research/production.
Probably he has hundreds of bids for relocation.
Thanks!
There are some other advantages to seed saving as well -
that plant that did well that you’re saving seeds from?
It did well IN THAT LOCATION, ie, YOUR location.
You’ll find that these “I have a friend whose uncle used to live in Nebraska so I know that Monsanto is evil” threads are much safer if you wrap your head with duct tape before reading most of the posts.
The penalty for not buying Monsanto seed is being sued into bankruptcy by Monsanto. I had an old AG teacher who talked about when he was a kid, and everyone saved their own seed. His family had a neighbor who was an SOB. They guy ordered popcorn seed, and planted rows of of it along his property lines. The pollen from the popcorn seed pollenated some of the field corn grown on surrounding properties, because it is wind driven.
No problem that year, the field corn plants got pollenated and produced heads of field corn. But the next year the harvest produced field corn, and field corn-popcorn crosses. Popcorn kernels are small, and hard, and considered a pollutant in any thing except popcorn.
So the neighbors, for a long way around, because the field corn-pop corn hybrid seed had been planted (mixed in with pure field corn) by all of his near neighbors, meaning that pop corn pollen had pollenated the corn in the neighbor's neighbor's fields, lost money because their crop was smaller, and contaminated, and they then had to go out ad buy field corn seed because their own saved corn was contaminated with popcorn.
Monsanto is doing the exact same thing. They let their pollen naturally pollenate the neighbor's corn, then sue him for "stealing" their genetic material. You can pay Monsanto for using their seed, or you can pay them a lot more for not using their seed. Either way, you pay.
This is expensive but probably a smart buy:

I would LOVE to have this one:

or THIS less expensive one:

Costco is VERY reputable. Note: 'Non-GMO' means 'NOT Genetically Modified Organisms'
Check Amazon.com for more good finds. Be sure seeds are non-hybrid and non-gmo, although it still is possible some seeds don't yield more seeds.
Roundup doesn’t kill bees. It is an herbicide not an insecticide.
Yeah, they’ve “proven” it doesn’t kill bees - directly.
The problem is that it can cause them to not be able to make it back to the hive.
And that kills them.
Planting open pollinated seed, American farmers were averaging about 25 bushels of corn per acre at the end of the Civil War; by the Second World War, that yield had increased to about 40 bushels per acre. By the 1950's, virtually all field corn planted in the US was either single or double cross hybrid. In the ensuing years, the average yield has increased to almost 160 bushels of corn per acre. Not only are yields dramatically greater, but inputs for fertilizer, herbicides and pesticide are dramatically lower.
Monsanto, by the way, couldn't care less whether you saved and replanted the next generation of their seed corn. Hybrid seeds don't reproduce to type.
In Llano, TX, NW of Austin it’s too rocky and hilly to farm but the bees are everywhere and overloaded with pollen. It’s an ecologically remote town.
I have noted jellowjackets/hornets are killers of bees: I’ve watched the murder when I pulled my hummingbird feeder up close and was aghast at the carnage.
Monsanto is key to Agenda 21.
For the record, and for your general knowledge and edification, the 27 countries that make up the EU did NOT agree by a majority vote to ban neonicotinoids. It was the head of the EC who unilaterally decided to ban them even though the science doesn't support such a ban, and even though bee keeper associations are against a ban.
I'll keep sides with those who make their decisions based on sound science rather than those whose every decision is based on politics and a Luddite's fear of chemistry.
Really? You sound like you're a regular participant and subscriber.
but I have read enough about Monsanto & GMOs...
And from your comments here, everything you've read is wrong. That's exactly why you shouldn't get your information from HuffPost or Food Democracy Now....or Time Magazine.
This is a complex issue that is multi-faceted.
Is it safe to say that you're concerned?
Not only are there health & environmental concerns/questions tied to GM crops
Again, you've decided to prove to us that you are woefully misinformed about GM crops, and technology in general. Must be those sources you use for information again.
but the Monsanto Protection Act
There is no Monsanto Protection Act. That phrase was coined by a bunch of anti-capitalist Luddites who don't know their butt from a hole in the ground. Why you defend these people is beyond me.
....as well as various lawsuits launched by Monsanto against small farms is too large to ignore.
So you don't support companies protecting their intellectual property? If so, you may be an anti-capitalist. It's easy, don't steal Monsanto's intellectual property and you won't get sued.
Do you think for yourself or just drink the Monsanto propagandist Kool-Aid?
I'm guessing that you avoided science classes at all costs when you were in school. I mean, that chemistry is pretty tough stuff. Kind of like economics and markets. Too bad.
Unfortunately, these are the same people who think modern farmers are still keeping corn seed and that it makes sense to replant hybrid corn. Who knew reading a bunch of nonsense on the internet could make a person an expert in farming and biotechnology?
I expect these kinds of posts from Huffington and Food Democracy, but not from conservatives who should know better.
Golly, then I guess we are about to see a share holders lawsuit where the share holders of Monsanto sue management for misfeasance for wasting so much company money threatening and engaging in litigation.
/sarcasm
My point wasn't that Monsanto was hurt by seed saving, my point was that Monsanto is using the courts to destroy seed savers.
