On his radio show Thursday night, conservative talker Mark Levin scorched his former radio competitor Michael Savage for attacking fellow conservative talkers.
The feud seemed to cool off after Savage, who used to go head-to-head against Levin in the 6 p.m. EST time slot, left the Talk Radio Network and was picked up by Cumulus, the same company that distributes Levin’s show. Savage now hosts the time slot following Levin’s, from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. EST.
But in January the fight was reignited, with the two trading shots over the airwaves.
In this latest chapter of the saga, Levin took on Savage for attacking two of his colleagues, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity.
“I’m thinking of doing a one-hour special on the life and times of Michael Weiner,” Levin said. “Little Weiner, Weiner Nation calls himself ‘Savage,’ changes his name but you can’t blame him. He’s named after male genitalia. He is a real cancer on this business. He is a phony, fake conservative. All you have to do is Google his name and Google ‘Allen Ginsburg’ and Google ‘Fiji’ and all kinds of stuff pops up.”
“Now he goes on the airwaves and he trashes a couple of my friends — Rush [Limbaugh], Sean [Hannity] claiming they’re not conservative enough, you know, like him,” Levin continued. “I don’t know, I’ve never seen Weiner Nation at a tea party rally. I’ve never seen Weiner Nation helping the conservative movement.”
Levin encouraged Savage to return to his old 6 p.m. time slot so he could face him head-to-head once again and raised the possibility of a one-hour special based on Savage.
“Let me tell you something, you little troll, you little nobody,” Levin said. “I kicked your butt in the ratings head-to-head from one end of the nation to the other. That’s why you’re late night, got it? I’d like you to come back at 6 p.m. against, Eastern of course, so I can do it again, snaggletooth. I know all about you. All your little secrets — how you trash other hosts, how you try to position them to the left of you. You’re a puke. I’m going to tell you something else — I’m not finished on this subject. I am not finished.”
“Ladies and gentlemen, I apologize to you,” he continued. “But this thigh rash — this thigh rash is a hideous person. Yes, I remember what he said about parent’s with autistic children. I remember all of that. Yeah, I think I might do one-hour special: ‘The Weiner we didn’t know.’ You like that Mr. Producer? No, ‘The little Weiner we didn’t know.’ Actually, ‘The transgendering Weiner,’ or something like that. I’ll figure it out. Head’s up there pal.”
In 2011, the rivalry between the two radio hosts took one of its uglier turns, when Savage offered former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich $1 million to drop out of the 2012 presidential race, and Levin countered by offering Savage $100,000 to give up his radio show.
Savage did try to help the Marines charged in Haditha. He did donate money, have the parents on, and encourage listeners to donate for their defense. I was very glad he spoke up and did something for those soldiers.
Savage is a fake.Savage/Weiner is a liberal/communist . This is just one example here of millions I’ve heard.

Schnitt does the same exact thing on his show. Last week, he claimed not to like the term "low information voter" that Rush uses. He claims to prefer a phrase that he came up with, "low information moron", since the beginning of his talk radio career. He also claimed that he was the first to have a name for that idiot group that votes for Democrats.
All that these guys (Schnitt and Savage) do is go down Drudge's page, line by line and make a 3 hour show out of it. No talent, no originality. Neither of them.

Before becoming Michael Savage, he authored more than a dozen books.
One of his books was a work of fiction called Vital Signs, in which the protagonist wrestles with his attraction to masculine beauty. “I choose to override my desires for men when they swell in me”, Weiner wrote, “waiting out the passions like a storm, below decks.” At one time, Weiner self-published his own zines featuring inflammatory pieces about gay sex at San Francisco bathhouses. He was apparently opposed to such things. But he was a friend of beat poet Allen Ginsberg, the very, very out gay author of Howl. Savage’s real surname is WEINER. It is German, and so was pronounced originally VINE-er. It means someone who deals in wine.
WIENER is that former NY congress-critter. His name was originally pronounced VEEN-er, meaning someone from Vienna. Neither name has anything to do with human anatomy, of course.
I can understand Savage’s not using his true surname, because people would never get the pronunciation right. This is because English spelling is so irregular, and American knowledge of foreign languages is so poor, and so many people are dyslexic anyway, that there is little chance of getting his said name right, unless it is real simple.
Heck, many people can’t even get “either” right. There is a long story behind that word, but the original English pronunciation was EE-ther, not EYE-ther. We Americans are more likely to say it the first way (in most parts of the country), which is good, old, Shakespearian pronunciation. The way most Brits say it is not original — and (as far as I am concerned) is aberrant.
Savage is funny in small samples. But he is a bit off the wall. And his callers are far more on the fringe than the others. Mark, Sean, Rush, Laura, etc are mainstream conservative. Beck is good too, but a bit too conspiratorial for me.
Of them all, I enjoy Mark Levin the most.

And, no, Levin did not beat Savage in the ratings. In fact, Levin is losing audience....the local affiliate for Levin here in Orlando pulled Levin off 6-9 pm after they moved Savage.... and Levin did worse in ratings than Savage in the time slot

Savage has contributed to the defense funds of military folks who were being railroaded in court-martials when they defended themselves against Islamic terrorists. Also he has contributed his own money to defense funds of law enforcement who were being railroaded by race baiters

I think the guy is nuts, but I find some of his diatribes to be absolutely hilarious. If I could cobble together an audio file of the best five minutes from each hour of his show, it would be a talk radio classic. The problem I have with him is that he’s unbearable for the other 55 minutes every hour.
Hannity is a “Reagan” conservative, don’t you know? He annoyingly says it every few minutes.

I know that Glen Beck has a Mormon background and Sean Hannity is Catholic. Michael Savage has a Jewish upbringing.
I really don’t know what Mark Levin’s religious views are (except that he is not hostile to the Judeo-Christian worldview, and, in fact promotes that world-view). Rush definitely has a Christian world-view. Unless YOU have the ability of God to know the heart of any of these men, YOU really have no clue (with the exception of Beck’s mormonism v. orthodox Christianity) as to their spiritual condition or destination.
Yes, they have been successful financially in their field - does that mean they are “Babylonian”? By that I take it to mean you think they are all morally deficient?
None of these men have claimed to be religious leaders or experts or spokesmen for any particular religion even though they do unashamedly espouse a Judeo-Christian world-view.
Your quip that “they have received their reward” is a reference to Jesus’s rebuke to the religious leaders of His day who made a show of their supposed devotion to God, but were really just vying for the acclaim of men - that was the “reward” that Jesus spoke of.
It seems as though you equate financial success and fame with hypocracy and spiritual decadence. I think you should be careful of judging the thoughts, motives, hearts, and spiritual condition of others based on the criteria you gave.
