ACTUAL TITLE: 911 Dispatcher Tells Woman About To Be Sexually Assaulted There Are No Cops To Help Her Due To Budget Cuts
JOSEPHINE COUNTY, Ore. (CBS Seattle) — An Oregon woman was told by a 911 dispatcher that authorities wouldn’t be able be able to help her as her ex-boyfriend broke into her place because of budget cuts.
Oregon Public Radio reports that an unidentified woman called 911 during a weekend in August 2012 while Michael Bellah was breaking into her place. Her call was forwarded to Oregon State Police because of lay-offs at the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office only allows the department to be open Monday through Friday.
“Uh, I don’t have anybody to send out there,” the 911 dispatcher told the woman. “You know, obviously, if he comes inside the residence and assaults you, can you ask him to go away? Do you know if he’s intoxicated or anything?”
The woman told the dispatcher that Bellah previously attacked her and left her hospitalized a few weeks prior to the latest incident. The dispatcher stayed on the phone with the woman for more than 10 minutes before the sexual assault took place.
“Once again it’s unfortunate you guys don’t have any law enforcement out there,” the dispatcher said, according to Oregon Public Radio.
The woman responded: “Yeah, it doesn’t matter, if he gets in the house I’m done.”
Police say Bellah choked the woman and sexually assaulted her. He was arrested by Oregon State Police following the incident.
“There isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t have another victim,” Josephine County Sheriff Gil Gilberson told Oregon Public Radio. “If you don’t pay the bill, you don’t get the service.”
The sheriff’s department had to cut 23 deputies and the entire major crimes unit after it lost a multi-million dollar federal subsidy, according to Oregon Public Radio. There are now only six deputies left.
The sheriff’s department even put out a press release warning domestic violence victims to “consider relocating to an area with adequate law enforcement services.”
Bellah pleaded guilty to kidnapping, sex abuse and assault.
When seconds count, law enforcement is minutes away - regardless of budget cuts. ARM YOURSELF!!!
My hometown is facing a 2.2 million budget shortfall (Pop. >87,000), and the police department is expecting a huge hit. Already the Chico PD have pulled out the youth service officers from the secondary schools to place them out on patrol duty. I don't plan to have to rely on the PD to come to my aid.
She could have peed in her pants, or chase him away with a pair of scissors.

Years and years ago a friend’s daughter’s ex showed up at his place (his daughter was staying there for safety). My friend put the guy on the ground at the barrel of his rifle while his wife called Law Enforcement. After waiting more than 15 minutes, Jim told his wife to call LE again. When she made the second call she included the detail that her husband was holding the man with a firearm. Several vehicles arrived within three minutes.
This is sick.
Liberals do this on purpose - if you don’t want big government and high taxes, they make sure to not provide services in areas that really hurt people. This policy is the cause of this woman’s rape.
They won’t fire the 2nd assistant wine steward or the “retire at 55” pension program, but they’ll cut police patrols.
She should wear one of those “rape free zone” T-Shirts,
or “tell the man not to rape”.
perhaps she could hand the phone to the rapist and the dispatcher could tell him not to rape.
“We’re sorry we can’t help you due to budget cuts. But if you would give us your credit card number, we can reposition some officers. The charge will show up on your account. So, would you like to go ahead with this Express Emergency Help Option? If you decline, we may still be able to send an ambulance after the incident, depending upon the severity of your injuries.”

My wife is heavily armed and trained in how to use the weapons I have provided her. My instructions to her have always been empty the magazine into the son of a b#tch, then call 911 and act hysterical.

My Wife has been given the same set of instructions and a familiarization course with all of the types of weapons we have in our house.
