WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups.
Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd.
Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

“She has not committed any crime or made any misrepresentation but under the circumstances she has no choice but to take this course,” said a letter by Taylor to committee Chairman Darrell E. Issa, R-Calif. The letter, sent Monday, was obtained Tuesday by the Los Angeles Times.
So, now she’ll end up in an alley with a bullet in her head because she is a traitor
No problem. While the 5th Amendment protects against self incrimination in criminal matters, it has no bearing on employment. Thus the House committee should immediately ask that this IRS official, “Having lost the confidence of congress” in performing their supervisory role, should be immediately dismissed from office and barred from further federal employment with the IRS or other federal agency or organization receiving any type of federal funding.
I hope Darrell Issa does not excuse her from attending tomorrow’s House meetings. I want the entire country to see her plead the fifth amendment!!!
From what we’re finding out it apparently doesn’t honor much of the 1st either.
arrest her for Contempt of Congress, throw her in jail and let her sit there until the trial and during the trial. And for God’s sake fire the woman so she doesn’t earn another dime of a paycheck from we the taxpayers whom she trampled upon.

Not sure if or how Taylor ties in, but Wilkens is the guy to look at. Good to hear his name brought up in hearings today.

In her defense, claiming the fifth is not an admission of guilt and it is one of our treasured God given rights.

You folks who want to offer her immunity don’t even know what she has
to offer in return. The only way the IRS corruption will stop is if hacks go
to jail. Using it as a political issue won’t stop the targeting until hacks are
made an example of by spending time in jail.
I am glad she is pleading the 5 and Issa going to subpoena her anyway....not going to look good that the woman who Obama has promoted to handle all of Obamacare is taking the 5th and refusing to answer due to her likely criminal complicity.
