Luckily out here in West Texas we are just west of the major supercell formation. Sometimes we get hit, but not with the big ones. What is happening today is similar to what happened late last week. There is a massive superstorm blowing up that is headed toward south Fort Worth and the heart of Dallas. Can see the top of it filling the eastern sky.

Looks like Grove will stay out of the severe path.

I haven’t heard anything about Grove Pollywog.
Praying your friend is safe.

And this week he’ll be telling us the tornado outbreak is due to polar ice cap melting.

It might take 24 hours or more to dig out all who are trapped. This is a huge storm.

Up in Plano you guys have a great RACES (Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service) that works with Dallas County RACES. I was part of that organization for almost a decade. All of the spotters get National Weather Service training every year. If an emergency happens, you are in good hands. Someone close will know and contact city emergency guys via radio even if phones and cell phones are out.
Just got a call from my daughter while I was typing this. SIL is an emergency generator technician for the big gensets like the hospitals use. He's been dispatched into Oklahoma with his service truck.

That is the town that sustained intensive damage in a previous storm, isn’t it?

I am hoping they skirt just west of Fort Worth. I don’t have a feel for the storms here yet...been watching Oklahoma stuff.

Grove OK is not in the path, currently. It may be later this evening if/as the line moves eastward.
Line appears to be about 60 miles west of Grove area.

“There are tornadoes in Ft. Worth too?”
Not yet, but there is red radar headed toward Ft. Worth. It is part of the line that goes into Oklahoma and north of there. This is a line moving slowly northeastward it appears.
