I think we need a serious movement to repeal the 16th amendment which is the source of the IRS's power and by extension the progressives.

What say ye? Article V convention or from the states. I prefer the latter.

17th too, while you’re at it.

17th would be better.
Once state legislatures have their representatives in Congress again, they can shift the balance of power from Washington to flyover land.

It irritates the hell out of me to live in a conservative state with two senators and a president elected by Detroit.

I would be in favor of repealing every one from the 16th through the 27th.

I agree that the 16th Amendment needs to go--the income tax system created under Title 26, the Internal Revenue Code, has become a HUGE source of political corruption and a means to intimidate citizens.

IF THERE EVER WAS A TIME, NOW IS IT!!! All news stories die with time and you can count on the Obozo and his propaganda media to put this aside as quickly as possible. He orchestrated this through the IRS union and will claim - just like all his agendas - that he had nothing to do with it. "AND I abhor this action and am fighting for you Mr and Mrs America - we will get to the bottom of this. I already fired the head of the IRS, so you see I am on top of it working for you. Now we must get back to helping middle America if the Republicans will just stop these witch hunts - they hate me because I am black.""

There is a good chance that Michigan will start awarding electoral votes by district in the presidential election.
I wish we could do the same with senators.

Income tax and the IRS should be abolished,
and government employee unions should be illegal.

Repealing two would be twice as hard as repealing one. Once you get rid of the 17th, the Senate can start flexing it’s muscle.

More problems than solutions here. Nobody has ever figured out a good way to pay for the national government.
Article I, Section 2, Clause 3:
Representatives and direct taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers.
Article I, Section 8, Clause 1:
The Congress shall have Power to lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States.
Article I, Section 9, Clause 4:
No Capitation, or other direct, Tax shall be laid, unless in proportion to the Census or Enumeration herein before directed to be taken.
Finally, on top of that, the 16th Amendment.
“The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.”

Completely agree. 16th, 17th and just for fun the 13th.

I don’t agree with you. USG is to use indirect taxes and apportionment upon the states to raise funds. Further, I’d propose that >80% of what Distict C(rime) does should be done by the states or not at all. States should be more powerful than they are by a _lot_.
Repeal 16 & 17.
To: central_va
Agreed...but only when the conservatives OWN Congress. Do you really want to open up a Constitutional Convention while the Libtards and RINOS can hijack and change anything they want?

AMENDMENT: I do suppose a limited constitutional convention could do it for a certain few changes. What do our Constitutional Lawyers say?
