Daniele Perazzi, president of the Italian Perazzi Shotguns firm, was taken into custody yesterday by Adams County Deputies [see update, below] along with several prototype shotguns. The executive was picked up in the parking lot of the Denver Merchandise Mart, hosting the high-end Colorado Gun Collectors show this weekend, after a taxi driver, likely reacting to a suspicious activity reporting outreach program conducted by law enforcement, told authorities he thought he could be transporting an armed “foreign speaking” terror suspect.
“He loaded prototype shotguns into the cab on the way to the Merchandise Mart,” gun rights activist and newly-elected National Rifle Association Director Steve Schreiner, who is attending the event this weekend, told Gun Rights Examiner this morning. “The cab driver notified law enforcement he suspected he had a terrorist in his cab, and they were waiting to intercept him, evidently oblivious to the fact that he was arriving at a highly-publicized area gun show.
“He has two lawyers, Schreiner continued, “one of whom went to the police station, and convinced the police that the owner of one of the most expensive shotgun companies in the world was not a terrorist.
Perazzi was released a short time later and his prototype shotguns were returned to him, but reports have emerged that he was ordered by law enforcement to leave the state by nightfall, and sources tell Gun Rights Examiner he has gone one step further and left the country. He is expected to be returning soon with an eye toward filing legal action.
Gun Rights Examiner also spoke this morning with one of the two attorneys involved with helping Perazzi straighten matters out to obtain his release.

The cabbie probably asked, as Mr. Perazzi had several cased guns, and Mr. Perazzi probably proudly told him, thinking an American would be excited to talk about his high quality products.
Colorado sure has changed. Back in the day, it was the place to go for big game hunting. Now, the owner of Perazzi shotguns is arrested and thrown out of the state? WTF?
So now anyone can get detained by the cops because a cabbie thinks they might be suspicious. “I dont like the way you look so I am going to drive you to the police station so you can be investigated, searched and interrogated.” Welcome to the police state.

Colorado is tops on my list of states to avoid. I have driven through the state numerous times, but never again as long as these Kommie butt kissers remain in any kind of position of authority.
Well, if that's the case than Mr Perazzi is extremely naive for a world traveler. Why would any salesman (and that's what he was doing promoting prototype shotguns at a gun show) announce the presence of a valuable commodity to a stranger?
And what about the cops who responded to the cabbie's call? Man traveling TO an advertised gun show with guns to promote? Seems reasonable to me. Wasn't there anyone at the show who could immediately vouch for him? At that high-end of a shotgun, there must have been someone at the show whom he was meeting. No?
Something continues to be missing here or this guy is simply dumber than a stump.
This would be typical of DPD overreach.
Even more likely IMO is wetback. On my first trip to Denver a couple of years ago, I came out of the airport, got a cab, and asked the guy what was good local Denver food. He suggested tacos.

What has happened to Colorado is the same as what’s happening around the country.The LIBS in California got tired of the high taxes,so they moved.The trouble is,they brought LIBERALISM with them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve noticed ads for Colorado, everywhere lately. I live in TX and I see the CO “Truth” and “Dare” ads on billboards and local magazines. “Truth” is, I won’t “dare” give CO my business ;)
And it appears we are “posting” people from jurisdictions now.
