The U.S. military could have prevented one wave of the deadly attack on American personnel in Benghazi if fighter jets had been promptly deployed, a top diplomatic official who was in Benghazi during the Sept. 11 assault told congressional investigators. The account, contained in a transcript obtained by Fox News, was given by Gregory Hicks during an interview last month with the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. Hicks, a whistle-blower who is preparing to testify Wednesday before that committee, was deputy chief of mission at the U.S. Embassy in Libya -- after Ambassador Chris Stevens

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
is this the most transparent administration ever, yet?
All these stories are just nibbling around the edges. We will never know why things were done the way they were, until someone comes forward and spills the beans on what was really going on, that compelled the denials of help. There’s something much bigger here than just bad decisions or poor reactions.
Yes, a simple fly over by one F-18 and hitting the afterburners could have sent the terrorists running. They had seen what these aircraft can do with a laser guided bomb when they were flying airstrikes to oust Daffy.
She wasn't talking to the possibility that nothing could have been done to help the situation in Benghazi.
She was talking to the fact that no matter what the evidence was to the contrary that the State Dept screwed up, she under no circumstance would accept responsibility and the Media wouldn't hold her accountable anyway.
DOD Had Assets Pre-Positioned Off LibyaIn Case It Needed to Rescue Hillary Clinton
Look at the first American torpedo bomber attack at Midway. The guys at the back saw the American planes in front going down in flames. They still kept coming. Every damn torpedo bomber in that first attack was shot down. What everybody fails to realize is that those first American torpedo bombers were coming in low. The Japanese fighter planes had to drop down low to fire on them. Those were old piston engine planes. It would take the Japanese fighters a while to climb back up to altitude to engage the American dive bombers. It was enough time to decide a battle. The Japanese fighters weren’t high enough to engage the rest of the American aircraft. We’re Americans and by God, we keep coming! It may be that all of us will get shot down, but we’re still coming and now we have your carriers! We don’t just go to bed and then go campaigning.
It’s very possible that the only reason this is now surfacing is because Obama was concerned about his reelection prospects should a rescue go awry, ala Jimmy Carter.
Think about it. We send in a rescue team, they fail and are killed and it’s 6 weeks before the election. Once the public found out and references to Carter made, the Dems would appear week on International issues, Obama may not have been reelected and it would have been possible for the Republicans to get the House, Senate and White House. This would have changed the landscape of politics for a long time.
It was better for Obama to cover this up as it gave the media more room to protect him.
Excellent!! “[the media coverup] is dead! You’ve killed her!” Long live the whistleblowers! They killed the wicked lies of the left!
Great story.
Also, in similar vain the British attacked the most powerful battleship in the world, Bismark, with bi-plane, cloth covered torpedo planes. They hit the rudder disabling the steering of the Bismark and kept her from making port and protective bomber cover off the coast of France, less than day’s sail away.
You never know unless you TRY. No one even tried!
And the assets available were far better than cloth covered bi-planes or outdated torpedo bombers!
That is exactly what I have been thinking everytime I see that video of her giving that response.
Well said.
Ben Gazzi ping.
I am sure you know this already, but other readers may not.
The reason it worked so well is that the new ‘guns’ on the Bismark had an automatic tracking/aiming system. They were precalibrated to the speed of the newer fighter aircraft. The old biplanes were so slow that the artillery fire had a very difficult time hitting them.
Agree. And now is the safest time politically to trot this out and deploy the enemedia to obfuscate the facts, discredit the witnesses and move past this unfortunate event, which, according to the Obama Propaganda Department, “Happened a Long Time Ago”.
