The man whose car was hijacked by the Boston marathon bombers broke his silence in his first televised interview on Tuesday.

Danny, a 26-year-old Chinese entrepreneur, reveals his harrowing encounter when he life hung in the balance in his nearly two hour drive with Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarneav.

The man, who is keeping his identify concealed and had his voice altered for the on-air interview, downplayed his brave reaction and said he only though about 'trying to save myself.'

I agree. I’m surprised he’s using his fifteen minutes so soon and on TV. If he wanted his identity hidden, he messed up. Speech patterns and mannerism cannot be hidden as well as body structure.

He was smart to escape. He was the key.

If he hadn't escaped, he'd probably be dead, and Speed Bump and Joker probably would have made it to Manhattan, and who knows how many Americans their remaining munitions might have killed?

Remember, before he escaped, all the cops had to go on was the fact that Officer Collier had been killed by unknown person(s). There was no vehicle description to be on the lookout for. Nobody had witnessed and reported the carjacking.

Later that evening, the FBI released the first usable resolution photos showing the perps' faces. The earlier videos didn't show their faces adequately — only people who knew them would have been alerted (e.g. Mrs Speed Bump, Katherine Russell Tsarnaeva). Her worried, questioning call to her husband was probably the catalyst that set them on the move. Too bad it resulted in Officer Collier's death.

Interesting that the bombers said talk in English when the guy's cellphone rang...and his roommate kinda knew something was wrong.

Actually, the way it went down was, they pulled in to fill up, Joker went in to the station to stock up on junk food for the trip to Manhattan, Speed Bump, meanwhile, set about programming his GPS. At that point, the Chinese guy made a break for it, running to the gas station across the street and hiding in the storeroom, having asked the clerk to call 911.

Then Speed Bump, realizing the futility of recapturing the Chinese guy and the imminence of the BOLO, ran into the station and recovered Joker before he could complete his purchases, saying We've got to Go! Now!

Not long afterward, the Watertown PD recognized the now BOLO'ed vehicle and pursued. Speed Bump was killed in the resulting fire fight (not sure exactly when, but his final experiences included getting run over by his escaping brother, hence his moniker), and Joker was captured 20 hours later hiding in a guy's stored boat.
