Its no secret that a lot of people do not prepare for the worst. Whether its an economic collapse, a natural disaster, man-made disaster or any other kind of an emergency, it seems most households are not properly equipped to handle a crisis. This was apparent with recent events like Hurricane Sandy and the severe weather disasters in the Midwest and south in the middle of last year.

Here in Atlanta, when it snows everybody eats French toast...(milk, bread, eggs go fast).

No mention of Guns & Ammo?
I don’t need to stock those items. The Super Walmart up the road has all of them...
...today.
22 Items That Vanish From Stores
“No mention of Guns & Ammo?”
#16, in the article they do mention firearms...but only as one of many items needed.
16.Self-defense Tools
Read them too quickly.
Self-defense “Tools”
OK, I guess so.
No beer?
Fishing poles and gear. I bet those go fast too.
Ammo. most people under estimate the barter power of certain calibers, like the .22lr.
I have seen Craigslist ads of many many such barter offers, people willing to trade bikes, snowmachines and tools for just ammo.
I agree...weak - considering that anyone who has a gun will have it loaded and within arms reach, 24/7 in one of these messes.
They say this: “Self-defense tools (firearms, knives, etc.) when a disaster strikes, you could be a target because you have everything you need to survive”
Still working on almost all of the above.
Don’t barter ammo.
Milk, bread and toilet paper. That’s what sells out first here in Maryland when there is a storm on the way.
I have all of that except I use a solar panel with attached charger and rechargeable batteries for power. That gives me light, fans, and working portable TV plus way to charge cell phone and Kindle if I want to read a book.
I think Marco calls that suicide by prepper. Someone that's invested a lot of money and effort into attaining a certain situation has probably thought about how he/she will keep the random gimmidats out of it.

That's a pretty harsh french toast, even on my scale.
