On April 17, my colleagues and I introduced immigration legislation. It marked a first step toward achieving the strongest border security and enforcement measures in U.S. history, modernizing our legal immigration system to unleash strong economic growth and job creation, and dealing with our undocumented immigrant population in a tough, but fair way that is directly linked to achieving several security triggers.
While I believe this legislation will accomplish these things, I am also confident that an open and transparent process one that engages every senator and the American people will make it even better. I believe this kind of open debate is critical in helping the American people understand whats in the bill, what it means for you and what it means for our future.
During my time in the Senate, many of you have written to me about your concerns with our immigration system. Today, I want to share this video with you in which I outline what this legislation sets out to do. And most importantly, I want to invite you to share your thoughts and submit your ideas below, on ways we can improve it.

Mea Culpa, AuntB! I was fooled!
Prolly not the last time, but not again by Rubio .................................................................................... FRegards
Those were fun days. We were Fearful for the Republic.
Little did we know that things would get much worse.
Greetings to all from the shorter-but-grayer-haired Florida Freeper!

Dave, yer on THIS thread! ............................................................................................................. FRegards
Hmmm... is that good?
Where was this FReep, Dave? I recognize everyone in familiar dress... but moi ain’t nowhere to be seen... at first I thought Lake Buena Vista [Disney], but I doubt that now.
There we are ... Bob, I think you took the pic on Jans camera.
IIRC, this was the twofer - we got the klintoon and the gore, AND we got Photoed by the USSS too ................................................................................................... FRegards
Yes Bob, you got it right...Lake Buena Vista.
I don’t think you made that one.
I came late... The photog appeared to be Orange County Sheriff's Office... could still have been USSS, DOJ, CIA [no Homeland Security' back then - in the good ol' days!]
I kept them photo-ing by constantly blocking my face with my hand, a poster, pulling my pants up high, facing away from the camera, etc., etc. hee hee
I stopped looking... although I am sure my fate is the same as yours... not very much 'free' expression there, eh? Not so good for Sen. Rubio...
I remember many fine FReeps with you all - one of the best was when we ambushed the Dems on the Grassy Knoll when they had a pro-Clinton rally - also the FReeper Navy off Stuart!
I’ve still got my megaphone and am ready to go!
Send them all back, people here should come first. Tax dollars are needed to take care of the people who paid them not a bunch of freeloading illegals.
Simply replace our current immigration law with Mexico’s immigration law — word for word! Who could object to that?
