On April 17, my colleagues and I introduced immigration legislation. It marked a first step toward achieving the strongest border security and enforcement measures in U.S. history, modernizing our legal immigration system to unleash strong economic growth and job creation, and dealing with our undocumented immigrant population in a tough, but fair way that is directly linked to achieving several security triggers.
While I believe this legislation will accomplish these things, I am also confident that an open and transparent process one that engages every senator and the American people will make it even better. I believe this kind of open debate is critical in helping the American people understand whats in the bill, what it means for you and what it means for our future.
During my time in the Senate, many of you have written to me about your concerns with our immigration system. Today, I want to share this video with you in which I outline what this legislation sets out to do. And most importantly, I want to invite you to share your thoughts and submit your ideas below, on ways we can improve it.

Good points, Baynative!
Attempted amnesty is what cost the Republicans the Senate in 2006. And they want to double down on stupid?
Here’s what they need to do - cut off ALL taxpayer-funded benefits to illegals including anchor babies. Give them nothing - no welfare, no SS disability, no school, nothing! Then we’ll see who really wants to stay.
I live in California. The illegals have been scamming the system for a heckuva lot longer than Obama has been in office. The Republicans are just as guilty. I believe the Gang of 8 also has Republicans in it.
Offensive and accusatory.
Yes.
They are NOT offensive and accusatory telling you to not have an opinion as a citizen. A voter. A taxpayer.
Perhaps we need to look into McCain and his Manchurian-ness.
Rubio realizes his big mistake in jumping on the compromise wagon with Juan McCain and UpChuck Schumer.
Too bad, Marco. You blew it.
Very few immigrants - - legal or illegal - - come to America anymore because they want to become “Americans”. They come here to steal whatever they can by proxy, through Democrat politicians who buy their votes with handouts, the same way Democrat politicians always buy the votes of their moocher base. So I believe Rubio just wants to help the rats open the floodgates to hordes of illegal aliens in order to increase the rolls of welfare moochers and help the Democrat party achieve permanent dominance.
That’s right - - I think Rubio is a stealth Democrat infiltraitor.
Background checks in their own country and in ours. Psychological tests to make sure they aren’t terrorists.
Let me see if I'm understanding people who are pushing amnesty. They can't enforce the laws we have now, that's why we have millions of illegals. They say we can't stop them at the border and we can't deport them. How do they intend to keep thirty million from being in the country 10 years after this amnesty? They say they're going to stop this from happening again. This is the same thing Reagan promised us with his amnesty. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.
These are some of the things I'd require in any immigration reform;
End to birthright citizenship. No ifs ands or buts.
A ten year moratorium on all immigration.
Because so many illegal immigrants are from Latin America and China, we will not allow any more immigrants from these countries for another fifty years after the moratorium expires. Not even for family reunification. If they want to be with their family they can stay in their home country.
Immigration after the moratorium will be based on what they can do for America, not what America can do for them.
Because most illegal immigrants are doing jobs people on Welfare should be doing and it would be unfair for American taxpayers to be supporting them while allowing millions of poor people to become legal, for every illegal immigrant legalized one American has to be removed from government assistants. This means no food stamps, government housing, WIC...
English will be the official language. No government forms, including ballots, will be printed in any other language.
Illegals will have to return to their home country while a background check is run. Before they can return they must; be able to read and write English, pay back taxes, repay taxpayers for any expenditures pertaining to their children or themselves. This would include medical care for their American born children.
The border will be secured without an expensive fence. We will dig two trenches 6’ wide x 3’ deep. The first will be six feet on our side of the border, and will have no trespassing signs posted before you enter it. The 2nd trench will be one half mile away from the first with danger signs on our side. The land in between will be posted as “No Man's Land”. Every country will be notified to warn their citizens that Americans will be patrolling the border and will have the authority to shoot anyone within the “No Man's Land” who is not an American Citizen.
The new citizens will not be allowed to vote for ten years. Within that time they MUST take American History, taught by someone who is not an Obama supporter.
The new citizens will NOT be allowed to receive government assistance of any kind.
My own personal belief is that we already have enough people. Especially poor people. Allowing more people in puts to much strain on our environment and infrastructure. I want my great-grandchildren to be able to enjoy clean water and air. To be able to hike and camp in our beautiful parks. By letting more people in we create more pollution and require more land to be used for farming and housing.
Best regards,
Susan
Man, I remember that day! LOL!!!!
BTW, Michelle Malkin has a suggestion for Marko Rubio. I love it!

Let me repeat that: We still have no way of tracking who has actually met their visa requirements, who has overstayed their visa, and who has left the country when their visa requires them to do so. Earth to Rubio: This malignant failure is by special-interest design, not by accident or lack of imagination.
Heres a test: Why doesnt Rubio form a Gang of One and dare Washington to pass the entry-exit system his new pals all say they support as a stand-alone first. Lets see them prove they can keep even a single one of their national security/immigration enforcement promises before entertaining 900 more pages of them. Prove it.
Ive read the bill and I can see right through it. The Democrats history speaks for itself. The late Sen. Ted Kennedy, whose illegal alien amnesty spirit infuses the Gang of Eights bill, spearheaded legislative attempts to de-fund and destroy NSEERS. His left-wing pals (and a few open-borders Republicans such as heavyweight operative Grover Norquist, who stood literally and figuratively behind Rubio at the amnesty bill unveiling) decried NSEERS and its supporters for fostering discrimination and profiling.
Never mind that the pilot program was in line with alien registration systems around the world. And never mind that indiscriminate entry and immigration policies are what enabled so many jihadi plots in the first place.
When the Obama administration took over, as Kentucky GOP Sen. Rand Paul pointed out this week, it indefinitely suspended the NSEERS pilot program and has no plans to revive it in the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombings.
Now the Gang of Eight Republicans want conservatives to jump in bed with these security saboteurs for another Amnesty Now, Enforcement Never plan? Whos Rubio kidding? Only himself.

On February 4th, 2013, Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, addressed the Duma...
“In Russia live Russian. Any minority, from anywhere, if it wants to live in Russia, to work and eat in Russia, should speak Russian, and should respect the Russian laws.
If they prefer Sharia Law, then we advise them to go to those places where that’s the state law. Russia does not need minorities. Minorities need Russia, and we will not grant them special privileges, or try to change our laws to fit their desires, no matter how loud they yell ‘discrimination’.
We better learn from the suicides of America, England, Holland and France, if we are to survive as a nation. The Russian customs and traditions are not compatible with the lack of culture or the primitive ways of most minorities. When this honorable legislative body thinks of creating new laws, it should have in mind the national interest first, observing that the minorities are NOT Russians!”
Know what you mean... here's my posting [not yet appearing]:
Sen. Rubio;
I have a sure method of sealing the southern border - probably about 98% - at a fraction of the cost of present plans.
The plan is utter simplicity: MINE the border! Oh, sure, I have been criticized that it would cause many needless deaths. Horse Feathers! Did the Iron Curtain result in many needless deaths? Once people are warned, the outcome is predictable.
Of course there would have to be visual and audio warnings spread along the boundaries. Plenty of media warnings in English, Spanish, Chinese, Farsi, Arabic, etc., etc, etc.
Some wildlife would likely be sacrificed, although history indicates that animals also learn fairly quickly.
Given the challenges of lengthy vacant distances to be protected, the method seems to hold promise at much reduced cost. This is not just a matter of discriminating against Latinos. Let's face it, we know a great number of Muslim extremists have also crossed the border... who knows? They may be prepared for attacks with WMD's.
We have to protect ourselves!
I don't suppose the idea will gain much traction among the 'Neville Chamberlain' Congress so dedicated to surrendering all our sovereignty and freedoms. Still, it would likely catch on with true patriots.

You'ze guy'ze are the best!
As for Visa overstays and how impossible it is for the government to know it...NONSENSE.
Give me a paper file and a calendar and I could do it by myself. Visa expiration date comes up...Alien hasnt notified me....his face and data go up on the internet with a $100 reward.
Game over.
The Library does a better job of tracking down my overdue book when I moved! LOL
What-the-hell is wrong with the 100 yard towers manned with .50 cal machine guns? NO DEER WOULD GET KILLED! Unless we needed food, and after a Ma-Deuce, yer gonna have to pick it up with a stick and a spoon!
Dunno Rubio's game yet, but it smells bad ...................................................................................................... FRegards
“Dunno Rubio’s game yet, but it smells bad ...................................................................................................... FRegards “
To understand Rubio’s game, you have to know the people who have been behind him since before he was elected...who, btw, hijacked the tea party label to do it.

P.S....for those of you who wonder what's goin' on with the photo in # 45.
My memory is hazy, but members of the Florida Chapter were in Orlando (?) for a activism meeting. We were in the basement of some building....maybe a church?
At any rate, this must have occurred almost 11 or 12 years ago. Our dear Gene McDonald (Seeking the Truth) was Chapter leader in those bygone days when Florida was all one chapter. Hi, ho, Gene! Egrets Up!
Chapter member Pete Kessler with his glorious beard (at the podium) was the hit of the program...as you can see for yourself.
For the right price, he would've married anyone there if they had the urge.
The very handsome Pete was at our election night party this past November, flying in from New Joisey to reune with his Florida buddies....still with the beard, although his wife must have used the dog clippers on him before he left because he looked very trim and.....um, more tame!
Hey, Magnum Force, remember you flew down from Illinois for this meeting....seems like ages ago!
We Florida Freepers now have three chapters instead of one, due to the size and population of the state.......Northern, Central and Southern Chapters, to be specific.
We get together for freeps and social gatherings every so often. We're fun-lovin', on the ball, love each other....and we're in the liberals' faces forever!
Y'all come down, now, ya hear?
(....er, please shave first......)
