Transgender teen wants to be Pa. prom king
Seattle Times ^ | 4/24/13

A transgender teenager running for prom king at a central Pennsylvania school is upset because he's listed instead for prom queen.

The York Dispatch and the York Daily Record report Red Lion Senior High School students who bought tickets for Saturday's prom were listed on the ballot for prom court. The newspapers say 18-year-old Issak Wolfe was campaigning for prom king when friends discovered he was listed by his birth name, Sierra Stambaugh, among the candidates for prom queen.

I think I understand what you’re saying, but think about this. When said student has class on the first day of school, and the teacher goes over the attendance for the day, and says “Sierra Stambaugh” and someone who looks like a boy says, “present”, then hasn’t that student just outed herself...especially if she goes on to insist on being called “Issak” by her peers?

The school has only listed her on the prom queen list because she is, in fact, a girl. There was no Issak Wolfe, a boy, registered that the school could put on the prom king ballot. In my mind, Sierra has outed herself as a “transgender”. JMHO.

Maybe there will no longer be prom queens or kings. Maybe now there will just be prom royalty.

This is a person with a vagina who wants to ADD male parts.

I think Rush called that an addadictome (ad-a-dic-to-me).

well, I don’t know, we ought to give these confused kids a little cover, since their parents are no help. At our Montessori school, we had a kid with some family issues who suddenly demanded to be called by a different name, not the same admittedly, but everyone went along with it, it was fine, the kid was 4.

Here you have a kid, who may be getting molested or have been molested somewhere and is confused, maybe had to register as a girl (because they are a girl) but was attending as Isaak and all the kids knew him as Isaak and when it came time for prom or whatever signed up as Isaak to be king (which admittedly is a dumb aspiration) and the school on it’s own decides to out him/her? In that wild animal kingdom of high school? what, they are aiming for a suicide in the name of truth?

Y’all are just mean

you are depraved; this is high school kid you are being cruel to, it’s not like a 32 year old dipsh8t who insists on being respected for his sex life.

You're right...I got it backward. I hate how the AP calls people "transgendered", when they're nothing more than cross-dressers.

“Mentally ill kids used to get treatment...there used to be shame. “

Shame? I don’t recall it was shameful for someone to be mentally ill. Words like sad, mournful, sorrowful, come to mind when finding out a person was mentally ill, but I don’t recall it was “shamefull” to be sick. Neither should it be. If a person is sick they should receive medical treatment. What is “shameful” is that these children are denied this.

Yeah, some discernment was in order to comprehend that post.

The shame accompanying the perverse desires exhibited by the condition was often the catalyst for the pursuit of counseling and professional attention.
