“Mentally ill kids used to get treatment...there used to be shame. “

Shame? I don’t recall it was shameful for someone to be mentally ill. Words like sad, mournful, sorrowful, come to mind when finding out a person was mentally ill, but I don’t recall it was “shamefull” to be sick. Neither should it be. If a person is sick they should receive medical treatment. What is “shameful” is that these children are denied this.

Yeah, some discernment was in order to comprehend that post.

The shame accompanying the perverse desires exhibited by the condition was often the catalyst for the pursuit of counseling and professional attention.
