The ambassador of the Czech Republic to the United States stressed Friday that his country is different from Chechnya, the region with which one of the Boston Marathon bombing suspects has close ties.
As many, I was deeply shocked by the tragedy that occurred in Boston earlier this month. It was a stark reminder of the fact that any of us could be a victim of senseless violence anywhere at any moment, Czech ambassador Petr Gandalovič said in a statement Friday.

Also, they should not be confused with the Check Republic, sometimes known as Washington DC.
Stop with the Chechnya cr**. They’re Muslims and they’re terrorists.
After 9/11, we had a guy from India in our community who owned a gas station. Apparently some low information types thought he was a Muslim because he put a sign in the window of the gas station that said “I’m Indian, Not Muslim.”
Think about the mental gymnastics if these guys were from Tbilisi(Georgia). :)
I love when people try to distance themselves...not going to work on me.
Which people?
It never occurred to me that anyone could confuse Chechnya for the Czech Republic, but them I’m not a Democrat.
The fact that it’s even necessary to say this is sad. The Checks and Chechens have almost nothing in common culturally.
Sickens me that so many can’t comprehend simple geography that a statement like this even has to be made.
“Which people?”
Just having some fun...
LOL. That one would be easy. I can see the MSM headlines now: “Terrorist was a Religious Fanatic from Georgia”
In fact Czech Republic is a longtime apologist of a Chechen cause. Along with Norway and South France they have a huge problem of crime among Chechen ‘refugees’. These people are dominating asylum centres, installing ‘protection’ over other ethnic minorities, intimidating officials and Euro-type incompetent police who has no idea how to deal with violence.
Yes they are Muslims and they are terrorists, but they also strongly self-identified as Chechens (bu looking at their past posts and pictures etc) so if this influenced their worldview, and if it might lead to any supporters, it is a lead that must be looked at objectively.
Obama voter.
Czech it out ya’ll! Them’s Mooozlims from Georgia! Hee haw!
BS...Chechens and Sunni Muslims are the same thing. This area has been Muslim for 300 years. And they are chiefly Sunni...Don’t make excuses for them.
Americans are the only ones among the “affluent” countries who haven’t a friggin’ clue of the difference.
Credibility Check:
Is the Czech ambassador a muslim?
