Credibility Check:
Is the Czech ambassador a muslim?
Hardly. Some years ago he was posted to NYC as a consul to the US. I met him and his family at a Saint Nicholas celebration. They give no appearance of being muslim, nor do I think a muslim family would have traveled to Pennsylvania to attend a Christmas party.
The CR has its history of religious conflict but it goes back to the Reformation and Counter-Reformation involving Catholics and Protestants. During the Communist years of the Cold War, religion was suppressed, and many families fell away from religion altogether.
I've never seen much fondness for Islam among Czechs. This goes back to the Ottoman Empire and cruelties endured under the Turks.
Czechs are a freedom-loving bunch who have been in the middle of many conflicts over the centuries because they live in rich lands in the heart of Europe. They don't start conflicts, as they'd rather write poetry and music, and drink beer. They get pulled into conflicts or get rolled over by armies from time to time. When that happens they drink more beer.
