CAPE TOWN For countless foreign visitors, Cape Town is an indelible symbol of the beauty and promise of post-apartheid South Africa. Beyond its gorgeous scenery and great wines, its very logo an outline of majestic Table Mountain superimposed over a rainbow emphasizes its historic mix of races and cultures, and its most famous resident, Desmond Tutu, is revered as a symbol of tolerance, inclusiveness and forgiveness.
But for many black South Africans, this city represents something very different: the last bastion of white rule.

The racial problems are much more complicated than this article indicates.
There is a large population of Colored (mixed) people in Cap Town. These people have been rejected and abused by blacks for generations. This group is also friendlier to whites than they are to blacks because of thier persecution.
I’m sure that part of the reason why the ANC can’t make inroads into Capetown is because the Coloreds as well as the Whites fear them. (likely for good reasons)
“It is run by Ms. Zilles Democratic Alliance, which grew out of the white anti-apartheid movement but ultimately came to include remnants of the old National Party that created apartheid.”
The DA originally included the remnants of the NP, however that remnant eventually left and joined the ANC!
South Africa is a crime ridden murder state which has devolved ever since White people allowed themselves to be shamed into giving up their power. It’s a shining example of what happens when you try to do the right thing on the terms of the Left.
