"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn’t make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan

"A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." - Thomas Paine 1792

"It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." - Samuel Adams

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

I was hoping he’d be a contender. I guess I’m left with Cruz. He hasn’t done anything horrible yet...I think.

He's sellout but he's correct.

What we have, even in so-call red states...is a de facto sanctuary country..

There is a big difference between having rats in the cellar and putting out food for them. If this idiot thinks the vermin will vote for a strong America after he gives them voting rights, then he is stupider than he looks now.

He is right about one thing we do have de-facto amnesty. No one is sending them home.

That doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be sent home though.

We have had 2 amnesties in my memory both were supposed to close the borders and stop the need for another amnesty.

This amnesty will be no different. Except we will have to have another in ten years.By that time we may have a Mexican President.

CLOSE THE DAMNED BORDERS before granting any amnesty.

"We have 11 million people here that have been here, some of them for a decade or more. No one is telling them to go home. No one is sending them home."

Enforce the immigration laws we already have, and they'll leave by themselves. No welfare, no employment, no sanctuary cities.
Stop rewarding them for breaking our laws, and the problem will be solved!

The politicians are doing this for votes and nothing but votes to increase their own power and privilege. "Screw the American tax payers. Let them eat weeds."

Rand Paul, the open borders libertarian from Kentucky. More wackiness and nuttiness to be revealed as other key issues come before the Senate.

The right answer to the wrong question is still a wrong answer. Conservatives are answering the wrong question when they should be changing the conversation to asking the right questions.

What are the right questions? I don’t know, but I would start with:

Why do we have immigration laws at all? Hmm? What are the specific things a person needs to have done before they can immigrate? Are they not important things protecting the US population from...well what are the purposes of the requirements?

Why don’t we simply grant citizenship to anyone who can sneak into the country, or stays longer than their Visa allows? Isn’t that what you are proposing we do?

Why don’t we get rid of ICE altogther, unless there is a reason for them? Is there a reason to keep ICE?

Rand, the feral government refuses to enforce current federal immigration law. The feral government has a history of this behavior. There is absolutely no reason to believe they will enforce your "border security" provisions.

FURP.

Paul is good on budget issues.

But pushing amnesty and homosexual/lesbian marriages are bright line tests for me.

I cannot support him.

What we have now is a policy of non enforcement, which is de-facto amnesty.

Enforce existing laws!

"no one is telling them to go home," maybe no one in the government but plenty of those of us out here in the country (you know "we the people," Rand, ole boy), we've been screaming for it for decades!

You people, you know OUR EMPLOYEES, refuse to what we've asked, pleaded, begged for you to do because you have given yourselves the only power to do this job!

We even formed groups, you know Rand, groups called Minute Men like our forefathers did.

What happened to that, Rand, you people, our employees, called them/us illegal militias, hatemongers and racists! Then you people told them/us to do what they were doing was "illegal!"

So now, Rand, you people, our employees, tell us what "we're not going to do," i.e., send the, home?p>Lastly, Rand, you sought TEA Party support and money to get elected. Now that you're there for a six-year term, you tell your supporters, that you didn't really mean what you ran on, you really support the millions of illegal aliens who had no part in electing you, people who are only taking millions of our tax dollars, like you are, Rand, these are the people you really care about.

Thanks a lot, Rand.

TWO QUESTIONS ON AMNESTY

(1) When is the treatment of American citizens in Mexico and their rights vs US treatment of Mexicans going to be an issue when we discuss amnesty ?

This is a question: Should Mexican citizens when in the US be given the same rights American citizens are given while in Mexico? This has yet to appear on any US legislator’s questionaire from either chamber....ASK YOUR FEDERAL LEGISLATORS WHY IT HASN’T

(2) What makes it necessary for US to subjugate our sovereignty because of available cheap labor ? While we encourage wholesale abortion as the Godless Demo-Coms socialists encourage population control and abortion Then complain the US is not reproducing enough to replace its aging supply of workers to keep their welfare ponzie schemes supplied with tax money to keep the system working.

Ever hear of reciprocal aggrements ? These are arranged to protect the rights of American citizens working or living in other countries.

Why is it when it comes to citizens of other countries we are required to offer them the same privledges as we do to US citizens? But when it comes to US citizens who get in trouble or attempt to do business in other countries they do not get the same treatment their citizens get.

Americans can’t own coast land in Mexico. And get no title to it elsewhere. If they run out of cash they’ll get unceremoniously sent back or put in jail untill some relative comes up with the “fresh”. That’s just for starters as for granting them voting privledges yea let’s give Mexican citizens that right when American citizens vote in their elections .

These people make me laugh. Each one of them thinks HE has the MAGIC formula to give the invaders amnesty and STILL remain conservatives. It's like the guys who spent their lives trying to make gold out of horse shiite or turnips - it didn't happen then and it won't happen now. Bye, Paul we THOUGHT you might have been the one but you just showed us you're nowhere near being the guy.

Rand Paul is right about what we have now. We have de facto amnesty. We also have open borders and American citizen funding of foreign illegals.

However, this plan does NOT first control the border. It says something about spending 4 billion or so on border control over a 10 year period. That’s contempt for those who want controlled access to this country.

Therefore, what does the “new” law do? Essentially, it maintains the status quo with the border, but now there’s a path to a green card for those who violate the borders.

It’s hard to imagine anything being worse than what we have now, but this is worse than the status quo. It takes serious work to come up with something worse than the status quo, but they’ve achieved it.

This “uncontrolled border green card” plan must be rejected.
