(CNN) -- The devices used in the Boston Marathon attack Monday are typical of the "lone wolf:" the solo terrorist who builds a bomb on his own by following a widely available formula. In this case, the formula seems very similar to one that al Qaeda has recommended to its supporters around the world as both crudely effective and difficult to trace. But it is also a recipe that has been adopted by extreme right-wing individuals in the United States. The threat of the "lone wolf" alarms the intelligence community.

Thank You, Dear FRiend.
I am a true Bostonian, Born and raised in the very area where the horror took place. I know every inch of the city, as i was one of the first Bicycle Messengers in Boston, and always worked in the Back Bay Area until I moved to Florida. My Dad and the Mayor were “Brother” Knights of Columbus at the same Council years ago.
I just got back from visiting Mom in Boston when this happened.
So this has affected me very deeply, but the lies and nonsense from the government upsets me MORE.
Well, it appears that six liter pressure cookers were used as the bombs casing. Look for liberals to state nobody needs a six liter pressure cooker. Six liter pressure cookers should only be allowed in the hands of the police or military. Six liter pressure cookers only have one purpose which is to kill people.

Next they’ll blame an 60 years old Christian woman with a walker and an oxygen tank. God forbid she should own a pressure cooker or a crock pot.
And here is another thing: this person and/or people are still out there. They must be feeling pretty good right about now, searching the map for their next targets. In the meantime, an organization called the DHS has spent upwards of a trillion dollars over the past ten years or so with an employee count of around 230,000 who appear lost.

It could have just been any Sandra Lee recipe sitting out in the sun too long. Ball bearings would actually taste better than anything that drunken hag can throw together.
“He had he’p or maybe a van, and did it several hours ~ to even days ~ earlier.”
That statement is ridiculous... A backpack sitting at the curb next to a security railing would no way go undetected for hours much less days. The only way it would go unnoticed is if there were a crowd of people there.
But they have their 1.6 billion rounds of hollow point .40 caliber!
There’s a huge difference. A pressure cooker speeds cooking by allowing steam that’s under pressure to build temperatures over 212 deg. F to much larger levels. A crock pot, OTOH, is a slow cooker that works at low heat and usually takes twice as long to cook a stew, for example, as cooking the same stew on a stove would. The vessel of a pressure cooker is also designed to withstand high pressures while the vesssel of a crock pot is not.
DRINK!
“Not an actual pressure per se cooker though I have heard of fire extinguishers being used.”
How about one example that I can Google involving soft targets. I don’t want to hear about Mythbusters : Diet Coke & Mentos
It’s a sad testimony that the FBI and “so-called” experts convicted Richard Jewel in the press because they didn’t have a clue who did it. Richard Jewel probably saved scores of lives by sounding the alarm and clearing the area, but since they wanted to “proceed”, he was smeared in the media, which later never bothered to widely report that he had absolutely nothing to do with it. I’m not even convinced that the guy they eventually convicted, Eric Rudolph, actually did the Olympic Park bombing. He was just convenient.
I missed it watching last night.
Should have though Guiliani hasn’t forgotten 911 like many others seem to have.
They just arrested two left wing bomb builders in manhattan, but they were poor misguided trust fund babies.
It is reminiscent of the Centennial Olympic Park bombing.
>When, exactly, has a pressure cooker bomb with ball bearings been used by “extreme right-wing individuals” in the United States? Do most US households even own pressure cookers or have any idea of what to do with one?<
If you can at home, you have a pressure cooker. So, if you’re conservative, you probably have one. I’ve got 2, in fact. They’re wonderful for preparing soups, stews and tough cuts of meat.
Sigh, now idiots will equate pressure cookers with extremism.
And if so, also ex-Army with time in the ME. Ain’t speculation grand?
That's reserved to be used against the likes of you and I. You know, the "real" threats. :D
A dogs nose is very very good. If a dog sniffed the backpack the alarm would have been raised. The backpack could not have been there when the dogs were there. The dogs could have found it.
