The Environmental Protection Agency acknowledged Tuesday that it released personal information on potentially thousands of farmers and ranchers to environmental groups, following concerns from congressional Republicans and agriculture groups that the release could endanger their safety.

According to a document obtained by FoxNews.com, the EPA said “some of the personal information that could have been protected … was released." Though the EPA has already sent out the documents, the agency now says it has since redacted sensitive details and asked the environmental groups to “return the information.”

No problem. Just force the EPA to compensate the farmers 10 times the amount if there’s any trouble that comes from this.

“...the groups Earth Justice, the Natural Resources Defense Council and the Pew Charitable Trust...

...were given information on roughly 80,000 farmers and ranchers...

...The EPA said the data was related to farms in 29 states...

...the information included individual names, email addresses, phone numbers and personal addresses...

...the Departments of Agriculture and Homeland Security, had already advised against compiling a public database with similar information...

...“Does the EPA intend to gather any more personal information on livestock producers?” Thune asked...”

No where does the article state why the information was gathered in the first place.

This is also a perfect example of one of the reasons most patriots oppose the creation of a national database of gun owners.

This is third year I have been harassed by the Feds in the completion of a “National Agricultural Classification Survey.”

I am threatened “YOUR RESPONSE IS REQUIRED BY LAW”

It comes from Jeffersonville IN 47133

I ignore it each year and one comes “Overdue: Return within 10 days” in red.

I even get threatening phone calls each year that I ignore.

I own 20 acres in Florida. The forms are 4 pages long.

The Missouri Department of Revenue is collecting information about Missouri citizens though it's many Fee Offices where drivers licenses and concealed carry permits are issued.

This information then goes to a out of state "private contractor". This "private contractor" works with the federal government.

Who is wanting this information? The United State Department of Homeland Security.

Missouri statues/laws say that this is illegal, yet the Missouri Department of Revenue claims ignorance.

Homeland Security wants to know more about you and I so they can use the information for any purpose they desire.

Trust EPA or DHS?

No Way!

I am getting them too. I return each one with a letter stating that I am not a rancher or a farmer and never have been, and have never applied for an ag tax exemption, and do not sell any produce or animal products, and still they keep on coming.

It’s long!! And incredibly detailed. I am going to try to get my letter notarized and then ask for a confirmation reciept at the P.O., maybe that will help.

Equally clear is the 5th Amendment, therefore on every field [even the name, make the bureaucrats have to keep the envelope and try to convince a court that the forms submitted came from it] write (or you might need a rubber-stamp) "Refuse to Reply; 5th Amendment".

Do RICO laws apply to govt agencies? These farmers are private citizens that don’t deserve harassment from envirowackos.

The BATFE needs the data for their new database.

Data base for this?
http://www.theatlanticwire.com/technology/2012/01/using-drones-capture-environmental-violations-makes-perfect-sense/47872/
“With things like the Drone Journalism Lab and the occucopter, simply and easily seeing and filming activities on the ground from above, out of reach of the police or other grounded obstructions, is easier than ever. For environmentalists, these drones can do double duty as environmental monitors as well as camera platforms
