A worker at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport has been charged with stealing shotguns, revolvers and other weapons from the checked luggage of passengers who had connections through the busy Twin Cities airport.
David Vang, 23, of St. Paul faces 11 felony counts, including 10 counts of theft of a firearm. He will be making his first court appearance April 25 in Hennepin County.
Several boxes containing firearms, a crossbow, iPads, laptops, mobile phones, jewelry and other electronics were removed from Vangs apartment, the complaint said. Authorities said he had 716 stolen items, valued at more than $84,000.

In a society less degenerate than ours he would be pilloried, whipped and a “THIEF” tatto placed on his forehead.
Was he TSA or just a baggage handler?
3-4 years in jail and he’ll be back on the streets. Most likely still eligible via the Union to file a grievance and get his job back.
In MY society, he would not survive the punishment.
Depriving a law-abiding citizen of the lawful means to protect themselves is a capitol offense, unquestionably.
I don’t understand how this is done. Aren’t the luggage locked and/or wrapped and/or double locked? Mine always are.
Seems it would take too much time to pick the locks, and with all the people around...
Must be others involved to cover.
He was actually hired to do conveyor belt maintenance. Looks to me like he had a good view of the TSA scanners, and he always targeted through baggage.
He’ll have quite an impressive Resume/Curriculum-Vitae to show the ATF. Probably would be employable with his skillset in a new Fast-and-Furious operation.
I guess he didn’t fill out the yellow 4473 form for background checks.
“You can’t ‘professionalize’ unless you ‘unionize’”....Tom Daschle former Senate Majority leader.........
Pick the locks? No, all airline luggage locks accept a master key.
In my society he probably would survive, but if I said what I would do they might lock me up.
I’m SHOCKED!
His name was Vang and not Mohammed?
This IS MSP, right?
I thought firearms in checked baggage (including starter pistols) required special processing and tagging of the luggage. I’ve seen posts advising the checking of an unloaded starter pistol to put more oversight on your bags and kept them safer from the union goons of TSA’s thieving hands.
I had a similar train of thought- wondered if it was Somalis...

716 stolen items ...others knew, no doubt..
Judging from arrest records, this is not his first run-in with law enforcement.
Crooks will always be with us... But if the government is hiring thugs that’s a bigger problem. Now it’s just ‘common lowlife’ stuff... Thanks.
