Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) on Sunday expressed opposition to possible GOP efforts to filibuster a Senate gun-control measure, saying he did not understand the move to block debate.
I dont understand it, said McCain on CBSs Face the Nation. The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.
What are we afraid of? Why would we not want if this issue is as important as all of us think it is, why not take it to one of the worlds greatest deliberative bodies
A number of GOP lawmakers, including Sens. Rand Paul (Ky.), Mike Lee (Utah), Marco Rubio (Fla.), and Ted Cruz (Texas) wrote to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) vowing that they would oppose the motion to proceed to any legislation that will serve as a vehicle for any additional gun restrictions.
Reid is planning to bring to the Senate floor this month legislation that would expand background checks, toughen penalties on straw purchasers of firearms and provide funding for school safety.

What Juan McLame?????
You don’t understand why every GOP senator isn’t a traitor to this Nation?
The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.
This is what’s wronge in DC
They put the school funding in there to get it passed....We’re not that stupid, John.
what a cuckoo bird. the filibuster IS part of the debate. I guess he thinks Harry Reid’s senate is some fantasy gathering of extraordinary gentlemen who are going to engage in honest debate.
he’s really making a fool of himself. does he ever see his scumball democrat friends criticize their own members?
The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.
That sums up their arrogance and how far they’ve strayed.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE retire.
Yes. I’m certain you don’t understand it, Juan.
He clearly has no idea what ‘representative government’ means.
I don’t understand why McCain doesn’t just change over to the Democrat party.
We sure do not need him as a Republican. It’s like trying to win a marathon with a broken leg.
That clown doesn’t ever fit the term RINO anymore. He has moved all the way to the wacko lib category.
In addition to Paul, Lee, Cruz, Rubio and Moran, the Republican who have signed the second letter are Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma, Richard Burr of North Carolina, Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, Mike Enzi of Wyoming, Jim Risch and Mike Crapo of Idaho, Dan Coats of Indiana and Pat Roberts of Kansas.
We will oppose the motion to proceed on any legislation that will serve as a vehicle for any additional gun restrictions, they write.
He made a great candidate, the only one they could find who simply couldn't challenge Obama's constitutional qualifications due to his own birth on foreign soil.
So, when can Palin challenge him in a primary?
****Reid is planning to bring to the Senate floor this month legislation that would expand background checks,***
The law is not designed to prevent criminals from having guns.
It is designed to be so onerous that law abiding citizens will accidentally break the laws, be declared a felon, and the state can then move in and confiscate all their privately owned (now deemed illegal) guns.
He clearly has no idea what representative government means.
That’s right. And they’ve been compromised in so many ways that it’s harder and harder to even put up a front any longer.
The man is an idiot.
That would be RINO AzHole
Why do we even have to continue to endure the pontifications of this insane old f@rt?
