More curiosity...

The Chinese did not get much salt in their food, so they would pull the slug out of a rifle cartridge and eat some of the gunpowder, then replace the slug. A friend was coaching on the rifle range, when a Chinese soldier pulled the trigger. The slug stuck in the barrel and before my buddy could stop him, he had fired another shot The breech got the Chinese right between the eyes and then creased the top of my buddy's head. He was lucky!! They had to be watched every second.

The 4-year-old is a little girl who loves me but hates the piano. The mother is insisting that she is at the right age for lessons.

The child is very smart, but she does not possess the fine motor skill, tracking, or sequencing skills to play even the simplest of tunes.

It is torture for both of us.

SOUP FOR THE TROOPS

WELCOME TO THE

(where our troops, allies and their families can refresh themselves)

Good morning, Everyone.
Good morning to our

Military, our Allies, and their families.

Thank you, Ma, for preparing the Canteen for today's activities
Another nice visit with the troops.
God bless 'em all.
I really liked the first graphic,
b-cause it shows they are still looking for the MIAs.

DC METROLAND WEATHER

~ Today...Mostly cloudy skies. High 53F. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph.

~ Tonight...Cloudy with periods of rain.
Low 38F. Winds E at 5 to 10 mph.
Chance of rain 80%. Rainfall near a half an inch.

Making Z Zoup
A cup of this...a teaspoon of that...

A horse focuses its eye by changing the angle of its head,
not by changing the shape of the lens of the eye,
as humans do.

In Tuscany, olive oil and bread are sacred gifts
and it is a grave sin to waste either of them.
The Tuscans say you add years to your time in purgatory
with the crumbs left on your plate.

There are more different kinds of insects
in existence today than the total of all types
of other animals put together.

It was King Edward II of England (1324)
who decreed the inch to be equal to
three barleycorns end to end.

There are more than 40,000 characters
in Chinese script.

The FR Canteen is ALWAYS

Come in, sit down.
Grab a cup of joe, or tasty tea.
Mingle a bit, chat with the troops
or family member.
There's always plenty of conversation,
silliness,
and plain old BS in the FR Canteen.
