Announcing the 2013 Free Republic Meet & Greet
It is that time of year again. Time to start planning for our annual meet & greet. After several weeks of planning, we finally have some details for this event.
This years meet & greet will be the weekend of Friday, September 13th. We chose San Francisco this year due to some great sponsorship opportunities that will reduce the amount of money FReepers will need to spend.
Fridays events will begin with a dinner sponsored by Lou Malnatis Pizza at the Bohemian Club, 624 Taylor Street, San Francisco, California. The Bohemian Club has a long history with this country. Founded in 1872 from a regular meeting of journalists, artists and musicians, it soon began to accept businessmen and entrepreneurs as permanent members, as well as offering temporary membership to university presidents and military commanders who were serving in the San Francisco Bay Area. Today, the club has a diverse membership of many local and global leaders, ranging from artists and musicians to businessmen.
Friday nights entertainment will be provided by the band, Tri and the Lateralists, local musicians from San Francisco.
After Friday nights events, we have some big plans. We will be bording tour busses and taking a short drive to the beautiful redwood forest North of San Francisco, in Marin County near Taylorville. The campground, Bohemian Grove is a 2,700-acre (1,100 ha) campground located at 20601 Bohemian Avenue, in Monte Rio, California. Meals will be provided the rest of the weekend by Build a Burger Pub. We have some other exciting announcements including special guest speakers, contests, and fun. There may even be a FReeper haarp band playing some fun tunes.
We hope you make plans to join us for this illuminating weekend. In the next few weeks well provide more information on registration, hotels, and flights.
This is the weirdest exchange I’ve ever witnessed on FR????
I will remark that my AFJ seems to be a touch more believed, but yours is in the top 4 of the day. :)
I am holding out for a free bullet train ticket to San Francisco from LA.
Weird? Clearly you are a newbie. Not been from around here long.
Actually humblegunner is having an off day. Try and catch him when he is REALLY on a roll.
Now THATS weird.
It's right up there.
Zatam Azal, the Pakastani / Mayan journalist for Al Jazeera, will indeed be there speaking. In fact, I may develop the Zatam Azal character. :)
You are projecting, boneheads go to bath houses.
Happy April Fools!
The Bohemian Grove? LOL!
I've been thinking about repenting of bath houses and casting the whole lifestyle behind me.
It's a fools day off.
If there will be a Full Moon, then it will be time to howl: AAAAAHHLLLOROOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh - - - - -
You had me Jim, until I saw “San Francisco”....
In fact, I may develop the Zatam Azal character. :)

A hybrid mix of Rage Monkey and Lazamataz from 10 years ago?
Yowsa...
I have no idea of what you are talking about. However, some years agon when in Sausalito when accompaning a Monk-designed 50ft. fishing vessel to the boatyard there, the waitresses of a nearby cafe told me Savage used to frequent their place...and that they couldn't stand the guy. Myself, I don't much listen to him though have upon occasion, but have heard enough in years past to maybe understand what they are talking about, in that not only might the subject matter be off-putting to them (the waitresses referred to were Chinese immigrants or descendents) but the manner in which he expresses himself can be beyond bombastic. If that sort of thing is carried over into personal interactions, and instead of showing some kindness and consideration towards wait-staff one is belittling or pecieved brusk or rude (even if unintentional), then resentments are sure to arise. Maybe he was a cheapskate tipper, also, I dunno...
No, kinda make a in-person character, a comedy one.
SF is a guns free zone.
I’ll pass.
By the way, I’ll be at the A’s home opener tonight. Taking BART to game from Fremont.
Pray for me.
:-)
Wouldn't that make it the Fremont Area Rapid Transit?
(sorry, old joke from an ex-Northern-Californian! :)
Oh, you are such a kidder! :)
I just hope Lou Milnati isn’t feeling ill that day. There’s nothing worse than an ill Lou Milnati.
If he feeling under the weather, Louis Cipher has a place up the street that will do in a pinch.
oops
