Hmmmm...
This strikes me as strange, because in ALL the other missions for the B2, they flyout of Missouri, non-stop, no landing, refuel in midair, conduct their bombing run, and RETURN TO MISSOURI.

Can’t think of a worse president to have in office at times like this.

Stupid Stupid Stupid

You never show a weapon until you intend to use it.

Stealth Nuke Capable Bomber? Unnessary opportunity to compromise technology......

Stupid Stupid Stupid

Or may be it is intentional to compromise the military, that is another possibility.

Nuclear-capable? Even an A-4 is nuclear capable.

The only reason they flew them is because they can’t get an aircraft carrier to do a fly-by (yet).

Needless risk. This isn’t the original purpose of these bombers; they were built for a threat that no longer exists over vast vast expanses of hard-to-surveil countryside, not in congested N/S korea..

Station them in S. Korea....yeah, let them get up to altitude before hitting NK, see what an L-band (or lower frequency) radar guided SAM will do to them.

One big ass mistake, especially when the NKs have spies in SK to let them know when these expensive targets take off.

Nowadays an old Beechcraft “fork tailed Dr. killer” could be nuclear capable too.

Just sayin’...

The B-2 has also recently been modified to carry the GBU-57A/B Massive Ordnance Penetrator, GPS guided, 30,000 pound, bunker buster bomb. Each B-2 will be able to carry two of these bombs.

The USAF currently has 20 of these in their inventory.

Importantly, the USAF also has 15 GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast bombs, 22,600 pound. Its airburst blast yield is the equivalent of an air burst, 11-kiloton nuclear bomb.

That pretty well rules out any Nork efforts to invade, because any sizable troop concentrations would be like hair hit with a flamethrower.

What was the purpose of announcing this to the world? Have the exercises and of course re-assure our allies in private. However, seems like an unnecessary escalation in the war of words/actions to broadcast this, knowing that North Korea will respond in kind in some form or matter...

What a waste of time and money. One Trident submarine could destroy North Korea without launching more than a third of its missiles.
