A server at Buffalo Wild Wings reportedly refused to serve eight police officers, because they had their weapons displayed.
The Prince William County Police officers were on-duty, but were in plain clothes, reports the Manassas Patch. They were refused service by an employee who stated that the property was a gun-free establishment.
The officers had their badges displayed but still weren't served.
Scott Lupton, the general manager of the Manassas Buffalo Wild Wings location says the incident was a "huge misunderstanding." Lupton wrote an email to the police department to apologize on behalf of the business.
Lupton wasn't there during the incident, but was brought up to speed the next day after returning to work.

Screw em. Everyone should stay away. Get the name of the employee. If he/she ever calls the cops for help, tell him/her that he/she will have to wait till we go pick up our guns which we left at the station because we were going to Buffalo Wildwings for lunch and could not carry our guns.
What are you babbling about?
Yep. What’s good for the goose...
Buffalo Wild Wings will henceforth also be a Megan Free Zone.
There’s a point here, though I’ll bet the owner isn’t willing to discriminate against pistol packing police people.
I’m having a tough time figuring out who the good guys are any more.
DHS buys 2700 tanks, and billions of rounds of ammo, to use against ME, then you have to ask the question.
I passed by four police cruisers, all parked outside the pistol range located about two blocks from my neighborhood. It was late, I made a proper turn, at the proper speed, and I looked at them as I passed. Every one of them was looking at me like I was a target.
I waved and smiled, and none waved back. As I was taking kids to piano lessons, I passed them twice, and got the same frosty response.
My cousin just gave me another six boxes of hollowpoint slugs for my 12 ga. I frankly don’t know who I might be more likely to use them on anymore.
Oh, and the news from Cyprus? I’m no prepper, but Cyprus is really happening, and Italy HAS to be next. If this happens in Italy, then it will call in to question whether any bank is safe.
I’m wondering if someone isn’t talking to the police and telling them its going to get ugly soon.
I’m upper middle class, and crooks use our neighborhood like an ATM machine. Out of 80 homes, 10 have been invaded. Miraculously, nobody killed.
I had a meeting with the Bandidos recently, as we are raising money for kids causes. I couldn’t have been more welcome.
Up is down, folks. I felt safer there, and with those gents, and they were gentlemen, than I did with the police.
Is it gun free by choice, or as mandated by law?
Again fine by me but, I do wonder what their stance is regarding the rights of their fellow citizens and the 2A rights.
Sorry, getting a bit jaded with everyone’s opinion that we are in error to whatever moral high standing opinion they have about us.
No kidding, they now know that it’s a gun free zone and armed LEO isn’t welcome.
Which is probably a big reason why the manager apologized and is comp’ing police coffee. His server just put a big ole bullseye on his business.
If you got a frosty response, then they have your number. You are not classified as a victim in their database, just the opposite.
I’ll bet your leo are NOT from your town.
Screw the cops.
The next time that establishment is robbed the cops should simply state “yours is a gun free zone and since we’re packing heat we can’t come out of respect for your rights.”
May I inquire where else is a Megan Free Zone?
I try my Damnedest to make Wal Mart a Kc Lion Free Zone.
Manager Scott Lupton, on the other hand is a good socialist proletariat, living his life on his knees, as he should.
" There is no reason why those officers should have been asked to leave police officers are always welcome in my establishment and even though we do have a no gun policy, as a company that excludes off duty police officer," Lupton wrote. "As a company we are community oriented. We appreciate everything that police officers do for us."
Ah, if only to be a member of the privileged centurion class...
It’s about time this gun free zone baloney created some inconvenient unintended consequences.
Scott Lupton, general manager
Sauce for the sheep is sauce for the buffalo wings.
Me? I don't think he should have apologized, but if he allows guns for some, but not for all, he should apologize to all, not some.
After all, the police have demonstrated a notable lack of restraint and proper target identification on multiple occasions...
Which part confused you?
Its a gun free zone right? Does it say, “No bad people with guns”? I don’t think so.
So why would there be an exemption for the police? Because they aren’t bad people with ill intent? Well neither am I.
If guns are banned, then guns are banned.
So again, which part is confusing you?
When the inevitable string of armed robberies start hitting that BWW and others around the nation, I hope the police will respect BWW’s anti-gun views by not responding to any 911 calls.
