ALW did one thing in “Phantom” that I really admired. When he wrote fake operas for the musical, he wrote some really, really bad Saint-Saens and some superbad Rossini, and he wrote them convincingly and well. That’s extremely difficult to do! I was laughing through the “Hannibal” excerpt because I knew exactly what he was doing.

Oh yes! “The “fake opera” is a riot!
The “Fake operas’ in the Nelson Eddy “Phantom” were Johann Strauss and Tchaikovsky. From what I understand, the composers were on strike when that movie was made, so they used existing music.

My cousin dragged me to see “Aspects of Love” when I last visited Philly in 2011. ALW graduated from one commercial hit per show to using the same damn song over and over again throughout the show. It’s catchy but boring.

Not at all! A little snow doesn't faze daffodils. For that matter a big snow doesn't, either, unless you bury them under a lot of heavy shoveled snow. What hurts them is heat. a couple of 80 degree days, which we're known to get in April, will kill them off on the spot.
That's what concerns me about this Spring - we've had persistent cold weather through March, which has delayed their bloom. We have had days in early April in past years where the temp went up into the 90's - absolutely disastrous for Spring bulbs. You can have a garden full one day and nothing but shriveled blooms the next. I hope that doesn't happen this year!

Off to look for some worm recipes! LOL

It’s a Harry Potter reference.
In the films there is a brand of Jelly Beans called Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans.
Albus Dumbledore takes one and says “In my youth I was unfortunate enough to get a vomit flavored one” then he bites down on it and says.. “Alas, Earwax”

LOL....the quizzes are often funny in that regard!
But if I answer "d) Watermelon" in your quiz what is the description?
To: ConorMacNessa
Conor I can't even handle too much tarragon or fennel because they taste like licorice. Weired right?
To: MeekMom
It’s been good to see you more Meeky! *Hugs*
So what are you up to these Days? Son Doing well?
To: AZamericonnie
I like tarragon - haven't had much experience with fennel. I use rosemary sprigs under my steaks on the grill - after marinating the steaks with them in mustard, garlic, fresh ground black pepper, chives, red wine, etc.
This is for thick steaks (2 inches and over) only - I paint them with the marinade during cooking. The result is exquisite, if I say so myself.
