Doctor Raoul died Saturday of a rare form of cancer. He was 58.
Raoul's family contacted us this morning to see if they could find out more about his activities as an activist.
This is such a shock. His family is looking for photos and stories about him.
He is and always will be a Free Republic icon.
He kind of fell off the face of the earth about 2 or 3 years ago now. All attempts we made to reach him failed.
If you have photos please contact me. Please feel free to post stories and I will make sure the family sees this thread.
Great work!
Dr. Raoul at Walter Reed Hospital holding the sign saying “This corner under new management” really takes me back. That corner was previously used by Code Pinko anti-war hags who were harassing our wounded veterans, but they surrendered their position after being humiliated by D. Raoul and the DC Chapter.
Oh, man, that was awesome.
He was one of the good ones. A sad day for us all.
Beautiful tribute for the Good Doctor.
It brought back many memories of freeping with the DC Chapter!
Thanks, Julie....FR Class of 1998
Another sign Doc had at one of the Correspondents’ Dinners was “Dan Rather Put the ‘BS’ in CBS”
RIP
Didn’t he once freep Bill Clinton’s motorcade in a Satan costume?
It’s always sad to lose a fellow Freeper, but it’s also good to know a brother in Christ has arrived Home to be with our LORD.
Prayers for his family in their time of sorrow.
RIP, Doctor Raoul
Anybody hear back from Uriel-2012 since his open heart surgery on 1Feb2013? I keep him in our prayers.
Beautiful! bttt
Long see no time, Julie!
I still remember him in the Minnie Mouse costume in front of the Washington Hilton.
He had a sign that said “ABC is Mickey Mouse News”.
Disney had purchased ABC News at that time.
It was great.
EXCELLENT ! ! !
Thank You tg
Wonderful youtube tribute here...

Last freep mail was 1/30. Not sure who would have any information.
I just saw this. I always looked forward to his posts.
Thank you for asking about me. I haven’t been active on the streets for awhile now, though I visit FR every day. I had both my knees replaced at the same time last year and it was difficult, but I am better for it and can walk and keep up with my grandchildren...almost!
I had cataract eye surgery two weeks ago on my left eye and I had the right eye fixed yesterday. I can see without glasses and everything is now bright, colorful and very clear. It’s an amazing transformation, but because of the surgeries, I also can’t dig through all my DC Chapter memorabilia for photos and memories of Dr. Raoul.
Over the years, Dr. Raoul brought me t-shirts, signs, books, props for the DC Chapter and generously contributed to the button fund with money and ideas. He was a dynamo and we all had fun and enjoyed protesting together.
Thanks for sharing that with us, T.
Prayers for a speedy recovery! I remember all the wonderful after action reports you would post..enjoyed everyone of them. It is so good to see so many of the originals on this thread..that alone brings tears to my eyes.
I will miss the Good Doctor and all his after-action reports. He was a pain in the neck of the liberals. May there be hundreds...thousands....that will raise up and replace him......our country sorely needs good men and women of conviction.
Pat
