On Thursday, during the predawn hours of the morning, an Oklahoma gun owner defended his home while on the phone with a 911 dispatcher, proving once again that when seconds count the police are minutes away.
The homeowner, whose name has not been released, is heard on the call pleading with the dispatcher to send help immediately as the intruder was kicking down his front door.
Though, he made it pretty clear that if police didnt arrive in the very near future, hed take matters into his own hands.
You better get these *expletive* here or they will die, the man told the dispatcher.
Theyre beating on my front door right now, he continued.
Okay, weve got them on the way, the dispatcher replied.
The intruder did not stop beating on the door. He eventually kicked it in and (to his great displeasure) was shot three times, once in the face.
I just put three rounds in his ass, said the homeowner, who seemed both relieved and distraught over the encounter.
The Ponca City Police arrived on the scene right after the shots were fired. They were too late

I know some of them.
Thanks in advance
You shoot until you are damned sure they are out of action.
I always scrunch my face skeptically when I read about a “home intruder” loudly kicking / beating down a front frealing door. Really? Who does that? I prefer home defense victories where intruders are shot dead after coming through a back window, and there is no indication the intruder was there to steal a drug stash.
what about if your on your back, getting your head smashed into the sidewalk?
But...To those folks saying things like "shoot til down and then as needed," please realize that while you can shoot a burglar, you are NOT going to get away with 'finishing him off.' They will pen you up for that.
Looks like Texas has the best. Love that word *attempting*. :)
States like Texas allow citizens protecting their homes, car, or place of business or employment to use force including lethal force when an intruder has unlawfully entered or is attempting to enter using force; is attempting to remove someone from the home, car, or workplace by force; or is attempting to commit a crime such as rape, murder, or robbery. An attempt to retreat is not required before a citizen is justified in using force against the invasive party in Texas.

I have no idea how credible or good the source is.
Hell, tie the dog around his neck and push him toward the cops.
>> Really? Who does that?
Thinking the same thing.
I’m so prepared at this point that the first hole has been dug and waiting for the perp.
What would be a misdemeanor during daylight hours becomes cause to use deadly force after dark.
I don't know of any other state that does that.

The guys that just got out of prison and came to the house I had recently rented, looking for 'Dee-wayne'.
Stuff happens, and it's not always tied up as neatly as your television shows.

Most justifiable homicides are *after dark*. And they are *up* according to those who keep count.
Did this guy present his legislation?
Yes.
And big enough to drive a bus through.
Exactly my point.
Plenty of these "homeowner shoots intruder, yippee" feel-good stories turn out to be drug arguments or something else besides innocent Mom and Dad and Billy and Jen randomly assaulted by armed intruders.
you’re in your house, you have family, kids, wife , in laws and someone breaks into your house.
Do you just ignore them and hope for the best?
Do you then call and just hope the police get there in less than 1 minute\\?
Do you get your gun and shoot him and take the danger away from you and your family?
o and hello newbie
I know that I would protect my family and myself, not that I would expect a far left liberal / socialist idiot to understand that.
