When conservatives complain about the harm that the endless debate schedule had on the 2012 Republican primary candidates, the conversation often turns to the hosts and the moderators.
Why are Republican candidates letting someone like ABCs George Stephanopoulos a former aide to Democrat Bill Clinton ask them gotcha questions during a GOP primary?
Why are GOP presidential hopefuls agreeing to meet for a debate hosted by an outlet like MSNBC, a cable network that has increasingly grown hostile to Republicans as it self-identifies as a liberal news network?
As the Republican Party released a 100-page report on Monday about what the party can do better to win elections, committee members are recommending that the Republican National Committee step in to regulate these televised showdowns come 2016.
And RNC chairman Reince Priebus told The Daily Caller that the party does not only want to reduce the number of debates. The RNC, he said, also wants to explore the possibility of choosing who actually asks the questions during the debates.
I think the party should have more control over who moderates, and we should have more control over the partners, Priebus told TheDC. And if we can come up with a mechanism to take more control over the debate processes, thats what were going to try to do.

The stupid party...
the stupid party which allows liberals and libertarians to speak at CPAC, tells us to change to suit their views and agenda and then we allow tem in our primaries while we get told we are old and stuffy and BTW I’m not old either.
Then we let liberals do our debates and the elitist fools wonder why we lose and get these idiots
it’s a perfectly valid gripe. stephanopoulos hijacked an entire republican primary debate because he couldn’t get his mind out of everybody’s underpants. it was creepy.
to say nothing of what cramdy crowlady did in the general election.
Duh......yawn
Duh!!!
Why would the Democratic Party want to give up any of it’s control to the debates to the Republicans? Te Democrats, through their media arm (MSM) controls the message through the election campaign. Why share this with a GOP that has been more than willing to get snookered?
Is the objective here to win elections and save country, or get rich consultants fees?
How about exerting a bit more control over who’s voting in Republican primaries? Enough with “open” primaries!! Registered republicans should be voting in Republican primaries.
Pribus absolutely should demand a balanced forum and format; and, if he gets it, he should then want as many debates as he can get.
I’ll accept George Stephanopoulos as an “objective journalist’ when dems accept Karl Rove as an objective journalist... Republicans have to be the stupidest party ever to grace the planet to buy into this kind of dem bullsh*it.
“And RNC chairman Reince Priebus told The Daily Caller that the party does not only want to reduce the number of debates. The RNC, he said, also wants to explore the possibility of choosing who actually asks the questions during the debates.”
A dinosaur attempting a primitve thought-process.
hey!!!! now why didnt anyone think of that before...
How about Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin
Or how about we put them 1-on-1 cage-match interview with Ann Coulter ?
First of all. The liberals own ABC, NBC and CBS so unless you want to have no exposure on those channels then you accept who they offer. Fox News could do a debate but it would not be shown on any other networks. So basically 2 million people would watch the debates and that is it. It is a gamble to not have debates on the three main networks but maybe that is what the Republicans want to do.
Ill accept George Stephanopoulos as an objective journalist when dems accept Karl Rove as an objective journalist...
Does Karl Rove work at ABC? You are going to get an ABC moderator PERIOD. Perhaps they could get the most conservative of the group but that is the BEST they will get. I don’t think you guys know how this works.
FU Rinse and Repeat! What a freaking concept! Did you come to this realization all on your own? How about figuring out a way to keep the Rats from rigging every election going forward, like they did in November!
How about Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin
Or how about we put them 1-on-1 cage-match interview with Ann Coulter ?
Love the idea, but who will pay for it? Who will show it? Fox News? That would be the only channel. ABC, NBC and CBS are the only ones that can afford to have a national debate. That is why they do it.
