American activist Rachel Corrie was killed in Gaza ten years ago today.
The International Solidarity Movement write this message in her memory.
Rachel, a 23 year old woman from Olympia, Washington, was crushed to death by an Israeli army bulldozer on the 16th March 2003, whilst protesting non-violently against the demolition of a Palestinian house by Israeli forces. As an activist she spoke out about the injustices that she saw in Gaza.
I feel like Im witnessing the systematic destruction of a peoples ability to survive. Its horrifying Sometimes I sit down to dinner with people and I realize there is a massive military machine surrounding us, trying to kill the people Im having dinner with.
She is remembered with love still by Palestinians and new generations of ISM volunteers for many of whom, Rachels untimely death was an inspiration to become more involved in the struggle for freedom for Palestine. We honour her memory and what she was standing for, whilst she stood in front of that bulldozer ten years ago today.

Post of the day!
Fritter - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary
......fritter small mass of fried or sautéed batter often containing fruit or meat.
I prefer fritters
and of course there is always
“Only 23. she frittered away her life.”
“They are having a pancake supper in her memory........”
With mashed potatoes on the side.
The parents who raised such a sick, warped, hateful girl should be put in jail!
mmmmm mmmmm mmm cake and chocolate, Rachel Corrie D9 Delight with a surprise on the bottom
She had no business being there, demonstrating for a fake race of people, that only occured when the State of Israel was formed in 1948. Their brothers in Jordan didn’t want them, as did not the Egyptians, the Syrians, or the Iraqis!
ISM lied, Rachel died.
Must we?
“This woman had a pathological hatred of Israel.”
And probably the United States as do most extreme liberals. I seriously believe this is some kind of emotional disorder. I’m really curious of how they become this way. You can’t just blame the parents. I mean it can’t be just something passed on through the generations. Can it?
LOL!
It’s tragic, that such a bright, upcoming MOSSAD agent and informant was killed accidentally. Had she lived, she could have ruined Hamas from within.
“Wow. And they are celebrating Maslenitsa (pancake week) in Russia now. A coincidence? I think not!”
Looks like a pretty big deal there...and Russia and Israel are now very close friends. So maybe, just maybe...

Your poem is great, done in true Rudyard Kipling colonial meter. Yours?
