The House Republican Study Committee (RSC) has launched a Second Amendment Initiative for the 113th Congress under the leadership of Indiana Rep. Marlin Stutzman (R-Third District) to counter what they believe is President Barack Obamas out-of-touch agenda on gun control.
In a press release, RSC Chairman Rep. Steve Scalise (R-Indiana) asserted that the presidents radical anti-gun agenda is a threat to our constitutional right to keep and bear arms.
Efforts to take away the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Americans will not reduce crime or prevent criminals from breaking the law, Scalise said. We will not allow President Obama and liberals in Congress to take away our right to bear arms.

But House Republicans may stand in the way with this newly-created Second Amendment Initiative.
As the President continues his aggressive gun control campaign, Rep. Stutzman said in a statement, Republicans need to stand and defend our right to bear arms now more than ever
The RSCs Second Amendment Initiative will help equip conservatives in Congress to defeat the Presidents crusade for ineffective and unconstitutional gun controls.

“...because they fear that I really will follow through with my threatened actions - because they know that I will, I did it in the past....”
Understood, brother. But that’s you. You’ve got a spine.
This is Republicans we’re talking about here.
Maybe I’d see it happening if we had a whole House and Senate full of Rand Pauls, Allen Wests, Ted Cruzs’ etc...
But we’ve currently got McCains, Grahams, and other worthless douchebuckets ready to sell us out.
I get your point, though.
Its not that the police will protect you, its that we have the finest and fairest criminal justice system in the world, and best laws.
If you surrender your guns and a crime is committed against you the courts will make it right,
remember the ‘Wise Latino’ is there.
Yes I know. I tend to get maudlin at times whenever I see a picture of Obama with the title “President”. Believe me I am willing to fight if it comes to that and as I said, it looks more and more that it will.
“...I tend to get maudlin at times ...”
Don’t let it get to you. Get pissed. Stay pissed. Get loud, and wake other folks up.
Your influence extends far beyond what you might think.
“...remember the Wise Latino is there....”
yes, and my trust and faith in her is absolute, total, and complete... Like Hitler made Germany right...
LOL, is that why you wrote "No offense, but thats a nice dream. Itll never happen." when Real Cynic No More wrote: "Id like to see an aggressive approach, such as a prohibition on law enforcement and protection officers, local, federal, and state, be prohibited from owning, carrying, or using any firearm, appurtenance, or ammunition that is prohibited for use by the law abiding general public, within the confines of the geographic United States.'?
Let me tell you something very plain - unless the police are allowed nothing other than the weapons that non-police are allowed to protect their lives, we will eventually lose, completely lose, 2nd Amendment rights.
Because without that equality, there is no moral or legal argument upholding the 2nd Amendment.
Cops use weapons to preserve their lives. If equal weaponry is not allowed against the same criminal threat (arguably worse against non-cops who don't have radio backup of massive firepower and are typically isolated when under attack), then what is being mandated by the law is that a police officer's life is worth more than the life of a citizen.
Understand? THE GUN ISSUE IS NOT ABOUT GUNS. The Left knows this! That's why they keep whacking away, again and again, try after try, because they know that the root of this gun-grab issue has not been stopped.
The issue is that the life of a police officer CANNOT be more valuable than the life of a citizen unde the law. That inequality is the root of totalitarianism. That single thing - alone - brings all the hell of the Soviet Union, Communist China, Nazi Germany, etc. THAT INEQUALITY IS THE FOCUS OF THE LEFT. They want it inscribed in stone, because they know that as long as it's not, they can be defeated.
So far, they feel pretty confident, though. Because almost no one is fighting them on the root issue - that's why they wave the scary guns around, so no one talks about the fact that it's not about the guns - it's about the EQUAL VALUE OF HUMAN LIFE - COP & NON-COP.
Preaching to the choir, Tal.
I have understood that issue for many years now, having studied the way the Gestapo assimilated and used ordinary German police, making them part of the Kripo arm of the state police, I know it full well.
And Mueller, the man who originally set up the Gestapo, had an absolute BONER for the Soviet NKVD, whom he modeled the German staatspolizei after. He actually disappeared into the Soviet Union - not as a prisoner, either - as the war was ending.
If youre in the mood to read something that will make your hair stand up, read “Gestapo: Instrument of Tyranny” by Edward Cruikshank (written around 1956).
That's a "keeper"! I'd like to see that on a photo comment.
Maybe we should start referring to police and fire as "2nd Responders".
“...I’d like to see that on a photo comment...”
Then Make it so, Number One!!! haha!
Here’s a video about “2nd Responders”

And the cops just stare at the guy asking the question, shake their heads “yeah”....”umhum”...”Yup”...”Pretty much”
You’re on your own. They all agree.
And that is why no matter what they try to pass, what they actually DO pass, whatever, I will always have a firearm.
Pretty much period...
That should be carved in stone over the entrance to the Capitol Building in Washington DC.
So, what’s wrong with pushing it forward, laying down the gauntlet, baring our teeth, so to speak, letting the left know that we’re prepared to go to the mat on this issue? We’re the big mean dogs at the food dish, and they’re trying to sneak in and grab our meat. When we bite back, they need to feel it.
That's what I've been thumping the tub about from Day One in my previous posts.
We counter-propose:
1) CCW holders have firearms shipped directly to them since they have passed state and federal background checks.
2) CCW holders can buy a handgun in another state for the above reasons.
3) Repeal the 1968 GCA (drop a nuclear bomb)
4) National Constitutional Carry (bomb #2)
5) Background check only for criminal/mental clearance. No 4473 (bomb #3)
6) Your favorite here
Slam them with so many counter-proposals they'll consider shutting up - the sleeping dogs theory aka "Jesus don't propose any more anti-gun laws. Look what happened the last time!"
Ok, I think that’s three of us. Add my requirement as number 6 and let’s see how many we can get to jump on the bandwagon. We have to get aggressive.
No ball game has ever been won; no business has ever succeeded above the competition; no election has been won; no war has ever been won; no great cause has ever succeeded: by playing only defense, merely reacting to the aggressors, and that’s all that’s been done so far, arguing against their proposed law changes. We have to take the battle to them, propose changes of our own to protect our rights.
All is lost if we don’t go on the offensive. Our proposed laws must be as extreme - or more so - than theirs.
I swear. 6 month ago, I was happy with the status quo, happy to own a .22 rifle and a couple of handguns. But Feinstein started this madness, I’m afraid that she’s turned me into a freakin’ gun nut, because I fear that if I want to get some other kind of gun down the road, I won’t be allowed to do so. Sheesh!
“The Bill of Rights belong to the American people. It is not up to the government or their courts to tell us what each one of them means. Its up to US to remind THE GOVERNMENT what they mean.”
Well stated. Buckwheat and his ill-trained gestapo DHS are skating on thin ice.
