The House Republican Study Committee (RSC) has launched a Second Amendment Initiative for the 113th Congress under the leadership of Indiana Rep. Marlin Stutzman (R-Third District) to counter what they believe is President Barack Obamas out-of-touch agenda on gun control.
In a press release, RSC Chairman Rep. Steve Scalise (R-Indiana) asserted that the presidents radical anti-gun agenda is a threat to our constitutional right to keep and bear arms.
Efforts to take away the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Americans will not reduce crime or prevent criminals from breaking the law, Scalise said. We will not allow President Obama and liberals in Congress to take away our right to bear arms.

But House Republicans may stand in the way with this newly-created Second Amendment Initiative.
As the President continues his aggressive gun control campaign, Rep. Stutzman said in a statement, Republicans need to stand and defend our right to bear arms now more than ever
The RSCs Second Amendment Initiative will help equip conservatives in Congress to defeat the Presidents crusade for ineffective and unconstitutional gun controls.

How about passing a bill paying for signs saying ‘caution the surgeon general has determined that guns can be deadly to your health’ ??
What if I have no gun and so I call the police for help and they are furloughed?
They would probably come anyway if they thought there was a chance to kill you or your dog.
The Bill of Rights belong to the American people. It is not up to the government or their courts to tell us what each one of them means. It’s up to US to remind THE GOVERNMENT what they mean.
Get a drone!
Ben Franklin was right when he answered that question about the new constitution when he said, "A republic madam, if we can keep it." It looks like we have lost it. A slow process, beginning with Woodrow Wilson and the "Progressive" movement but it has finally arrived. Lost, lost, lost. It will take a 2nd American Revolution to reestablish it I fear, no, I know! Keep your ammo and your guns ready patriots!
“...What if I have no gun and so I call the police for help and they are furloughed?...”
Always have a gun and you won’t have that problem.
YOU are the First Responder in any encounter with a criminal. Police are under ZERO obligation to save your life - their purpose is to solve the crime after it happens, enforce whatever laws happen to generate revenue for the state and male you behave, and draw the chalk line around your body after the fact.
That’s about it.
The only person responsible for your life is you.
I’d like to see an aggressive approach, such as a prohibition on law enforcement and protection officers, local, federal, and state, be prohibited from owning, carrying, or using any firearm, appurtenance, or ammunition that is prohibited for use by the law abiding general public, within the confines of the geographic United States.
No offense, but that’s a nice dream. It’ll never happen.
There’s no reason to have a gun, because you can call the police -
just as there’s no reason to have a fire extinguisher because you can call the fire department.
“...Lost, lost, lost....”
My friend, as long as you have the ability and the will to shoot back, NOTHING is “Lost, lost, lost.”
What absolutely boggles my mind is that there are actually people out there amongst us who believe that...
It’s no more a dream from our side than Feinstein’s position is from hers. When one side pushes, you have to push back harder to make it stop. This idea of a measured response only causes us to lose ground, one pebble at a time. Let them know we’re serious. If they sto pushng, ghen ee can back down, but don’t react, be proactive.
I trust the police to ‘get there in time’ .....to write the report on my wounds.
Maybe local police should not be allowed to have guns either, instead they can call Homeland Security for help if the situation gets out of control and their zapper isnt enough. I am sure Homeland will respond promptly
“...When one side pushes, you have to push back harder to make it stop. This idea of a measured response only causes us to lose ground, one pebble at a time...”
Preaching to the choir, my friend.
But the cops will never give up their perceived monopoly on ownership of force.
“...I am sure Homeland will respond promptly ...”
...with a Hellfire strike from a drone...? :^)
They could show up with one of their fancy new RVs with a million rounds of hollowpoint ammo.
No doubt they’re salivating at the thought of getting to play with their new toys.
Lotsa that going around these days...
I’ve actually won many a battle in the boardroom by taking this aproach, by anticipating my enemy’s moves, waiting for them to make their initial attack against my plan, and then coming fom them with such a strong, aggresive counterpunch that they’re completely shocked and unprepared. Everything dies down and status quo results, because they fear that I really will follow through with my threatened actions - because they know that I will, I did it in the past.
Yes, you are right, and that is how we win. Enough of them will support our side, knowing that they can never reach us in time to protect us, and support our need to have the right types of arms to defend us until they arrive.
