A 45 day moratorium on gun sales has been unanimously approved by the Los Gatos Town Council. The moratorium gives town officials time to come up with a permanent ordinance regulating gun sales. The controversy started when Templar Sports opened in December. Some people had protested they didn't receive enough public notice before the store was issued a business license. The moratorium doesn't affect Templar. Town staff expects to bring a proposed ordinance to the council in four to six months.

“Shall not be infringed” appears not to mean what any sane person thinks the words mean - we should ask Chief Justice Roberts if this is not an infringement, just a tax and thus constitutional.

The Los Gatos Town Council will tell you what’s Constitutional! They are the ultimate authority, aren’t they?

Well, then Los Gatos firearm vendors need to button up their shop and move elsewhere.
I know places where their entire inventory would be purchased in under 30 minutes.

That will surely keep guns out of the hands of street gangs.

I attended the first of the recent spat of hearings on LG's new gun shop. The shop's supporters outnumbered the critics by at least 6 to 1.
The clique of anti-2nd amendment self important liberal ninnies in this town make me embarrassed to live here.

Whats weird is the moratorium doesn't affect Templar, the subject of all this fuss.
But Templar is the only gun shop in town.
So the moratorium is meaningless.

It’s not constitutional, but Los Gatos is a strange place anyway. A WW II GI house could sell for several million bucks in that town full of morons.

I think a town in Texas needs to pass a 45 day moratorium on abortion and lets see how the left howls!!

The boneheads don't understand CA state law. The state has full pre-emption on all firearms laws. Local cities can not do it. They get slapped down every time they try.

When did town councils acquire the power over citizens to tell what they may and may not sell on their own property? Government is run amok and Americans not only put up with it, they are conditioned to desire it.

I’m in Campbell. I was thinking of taking my Dad up there for some Father-Daughter bonding at the new store. What a load of elitist pigs in Los Gatos...present company excepted, of course.

Los Gatos is one of the most affluent cities in the United States, home to many who made their bones in the nearby Silicon Valley, and a locus of maladaptive liberal philosophy.

The snide dismissals of the 'out of towners' that shopwed up was stomach turning.
I love living here but like so many other really nice places a high percentage of the residents suck hard.

BTW the place is really nice, oddly enough an LG/Monte Sereno cop is co owner.
I'm gonna head over there tomorrow and show support by picking up some M1A magazines.
