The UN has confirmed that 20 peacekeepers have been captured near the Golan heights by armed Syrian rebel fighters who call themselves the "Martyrs of Yarmouk" brigade.
"The UN observers were on a regular supply mission and were stopped near Observation Post 58, which had sustained damage and was evacuated this past weekend following heavy combat in close proximity, at Al Jamlah," the United Nations said in a statement. The UN has since sent a team in to assist with the resolving the situation.
The brigade seized the soldiers who were stationed in the buffer zone between Israel and Syria on Wednesday evening and warned that if they was no response to their demands within 24 hours, they would treat the peacekeepers as hostages.

The sooner these people overplay their hand the better off the world will be.
IMO we’d be most fortunate if they cobbled together a new caliphate with a single capital and the sovereignty of a state, no matter how large. Then we wouldn’t have to tippytoe around their bleeping religion anymore.

I'm a really lucky dad. One is in law school now and the other is in UMN Twin Cities school of architecture, minoring in ancient greek.
Get ready for the next part.........Both are now young women. And yes, nobody really cares to join us at family events. A lot of head shaking and puzzled looks. It seems our lack of Honey Boo-Boo and Oprah smarts puts us at a disadvantage.
I made smart ones too, homeschooling helped. One’s a Greek freak, heavily into Biblical Greek, who wanted to study law but couldn’t even dream of a college education, so far beyond my means it was. This proved a blessing in disguise. Nothing but sane conservatives in the family.
But don’t worry, they usually learn from life, what really matters and what really endures.
BTW, the law school she goes to does not allow their juris doctorate students to work while attending. They strong arm the students to take out loans. It's one of the best law schools in the country. They want their graduates owing big when they graduate. I have no idea why, but I can guess.

I have to say, though, I think we could make friends with some Arabs. I believe the greatest act of betrayal in our foreign policy in the last ten years has been Obama’s turning away from an alliance with Iraq.
Bush’s goal of a stable, democratic, FREE Iraq was achievable, I think. But the assclown has betrayed that trust...and for DECADES hence, it will be a challenge for future presidents to regain the trust of foreign leaders.
Who can blame them? If I am President of X, and the POTUS comes to me and says, “Be our ally, we will stand with you”, who will fault me for saying, “Yes, but what if you are soon replaced by a clown like Obamugabe, who will walk away from us?”
Such a response would be fully understandable, and BO’s actions will hurt us for years to come in creating and getting agreements on the world stage. He has shown us to be an undependable ally.
The prime example, of course, is Israel. But also: Egypt, Afghanistan, Taiwan, South Korea, Poland and the Baltic states...He and Hitlery and Lurch have been disastrous.
But...but...wait a minute...I thought Habib and Achmed and Muhamed and Mohamed and Phlegmhamed were the GOOD Guys over there - you know, Freedom Fighters, Syrian Almost-Spring kinda guys, fighting an oppressive government??? You know - the whole “they’re OUR bastards” kinda thing?
And here they are kidnapping those lovable UN mercenari - err, “peacekpeers”...yeah, that’s it.

Interesting. There is a lot of corruption in academia, to be sure. I remember talking to one bunch of people who recognized my daughter's abilities and were virtually drooling and panting at the prospect of funding her college education. They knew where the money was and how to get it. But they reminded me so much of crooked real estate brokers, I couldn't bring myself to attend a second meeting. I raised her on a widow's budget, no handouts, no charity, and no mercy from anyone, and these covetous people are swearing they just want to help her realize her potential. Suuure they are!
The people who are doing the skimming, don't talk, but it's definitely happening. I hope someday, someone turns that rock over and has a good look at the system.
As for Islam and democracy being in harmony and a state of being together, the two are as compatable as the same poles of a magnet. Anyone trying to sell the idea of Islam and democracy are either complete morons or hiding an underlying agenda. There is no individual liberty in Islam.
There is a reason that tyranical dictators are the only ones who can control the lunatics in bedsheets. Murder, violence, rape, deceit, and slavery are the other pillars of Islam nobody talks about. Islamic nations also do not vote out their leaders in their process. They kill them when leaving office. That is a fact for centuries. One does not gracefully part from governing a people in Islam. There is no orderly transition from old to new regimes. Everyone old dies, and everyone new riots for a few months. The only common theme is to kill all the jews, which is printed by their caligraphers on the new Chinette plates.

The rebels would be as bad or worse than Assad if they win.
Maybe the Syrian Rebels aren’t so bad after all....
Somehow, some way, the world will make this out to be Israel’s fault.
I have yet to see what country these peacekeepers are from. If they are not from a muslim country, beheadings on Al-Jazeera could be in their future.
