Trump, Levin Right About Rove
Big Government ^ | 2/16/13 | David Bossie

Posted on 02/16/2013 7:36:15 AM PST by Lakeshark

If you’re a donor or potential donor to Karl Rove’s group American Crossroads, I recommend you listen to Mark Levin’s recent interview with Donald Trump, because they disclosed some long overdue truths that needed to be said.

Trump and Levin made several points that donors, the media, and the political class can no longer ignore and frankly should have picked up on long ago. When you see the facts all laid out, you’ll be asking yourself the same question as Levin: “I would say to the wealthy donors out there, why do you keep donating to him?”

The first point Trump makes is exhibit one in the case against Rove and something people should never, ever forget: “You know it was really Karl Rove who gave us Obama.” Mr. Trump is exactly right. The next time someone says Karl Rove is a political genius, just remember that his disastrous decisions during the Bush Administration paved the way for President Obama’s election, Obamacare’s implementation, and our unsustainable $16 trillion national debt.

The truth is that the only times in politics when the political pendulum swings that far in either direction is when things get really, really awful under the sitting president. What largely caused that political situation was Karl Rove’s wrongheaded advice to George W. Bush. Let’s also be honest about Rove being the architect of Bush’s two victories. Barely beating atrocious candidates like Al Gore and John Kerry is not exactly a heavy lift or something to brag about, because he nearly let both get away.

Rove and Dubya spoke so well of the Democrats while Reid, Pelosi, and later Obama were actively discrediting and de-legitimizing the Republican Party in general, and conservative principles in particular. Great strategy. It just keeps paying dividends. Anyone who donates a penny to this self promoting jackass didn’t deserve their money in the first place.

He also pointed out Roves record of candidate failures compared to Tea Party success with Cruz, Rubio, Lee, Nikki Haley and countless local offices across the land.

Rove may have been conservative once, but I think he hit that change point where his pocketbook took over and the tendency to play the middle for financial gain took over.

W picked a political adviser who was compatible.

Exactly. And together they just about destroyed the Party of Reagan and ushered in the Era of Socialist Mediocrity. Nice work, fellas.

They took $400 million of money that people put up to fight and they made the worst ads I’ve ever seen.”

Trump is dead on here. The CR-GPS ads were bland, vanilla, and seemingly designed to get people to reach for the remote. Commercials for Metamucil were more moving and inspirational. They must have been focused grouped with an eye toward registering no emotional appeal whatsoever. And they also took away all the oxygen for other groups that could have done a better job.

This is a decent article.

This is personal for Trump because he was a $50,000 donor to Crossroads in 2010. That money could have been put to good use if it was given to groups with fresh ideas. So the next time you consider stroking a check to a Rove-controlled group, just remember what Donald Trump already knows: “Karl Rove, I just think he’s one of the most overrated people in politics.”

$50,000 isn't even "petty cash" for Donald Trump. It's more like coins found under the sofa cushions. Still, if Donald Trump hadn't figured out by 2010 that Karl Rove is a self-serving imbecilic hack who needed to be drummed out of the party years ago, then Donald Trump isn't a very smart man.

Levin's in a class by himself, as far as political commentators go.

Levin is not afraid to call out the GOP, loud and clear. Rush softens his criticism, but you can still tell he is unhappy with them. Hannity only focuses on Democrats and mostly ignores Republican malfeasance.

>Tokyo seems to be about hanging on to the gravy train he built for himself.

A big part of it, but these guys also get wrapped up in hearing how great they are. After a while, if anybody criticizes them, it is such a shock they freak out, cover their ears, and go Nyah, Nyah, Nyah, Nyah, until it stops.

My guess is Karl’s brain has crossed the point where he can contemplate the fact he may be doing anything wrong. Now it will always be the fault of everyone else, and Karl will always be a failure because everybody didn’t do exactly what he said. Just like when Fox called the election, and he denied it could possibly be true. It’s a shame to see him go out this way, but what can you do.

Trump is doing God’s work work. Seems like he and Allen West are the only guys beyond talk radio willing to speak out, and call it like it is. Amazing our Warrior ideology has become populated by so many limp wrists at the top of the food chain.

Rush needs to become somewhat more pro-American in trade.

That is my only criticism of Limbaugh.

He is too sold on foreign trade, which is now anti-American.

"Seems like he and Allen West are the only guys beyond talk radio willing to speak out, and call it like it is."

Ted Cruz and to a lesser extent, Tom Cotton, seem to be putting rounds on target.

the reason the economy went to crap right before Bush left office was not the fault of political decisions emanating from the White House.

... there was enough failure in the vision of the Bush/Rove white house to assign plenty of blame to them.

Trump was definitely a 'Rat for quite a while. He may actually be coming around in his old age.

Jury's still out.

Hah! Not gonna happen. Rush is pro NAFTA, GATT, etc. He stopped supporting Buchanan because Pat was criticizing ‘free-trade’ too much.

That was the last candidate he supported prior to a primary if I remember.

Being pro trade is recognizing that the year is not 1960. It is 2013.

The isolationist thought and concepts are no longer viable. We live in a world of global trade where one can buy cables and other computer stuff direct from Hong Kong vendors over ebay, shipped by USMail and paid for with PayPal. Delivery is 4 or 5 days

Like Lord Grantham on Downton Abby, the world you so dearly cherish just doesn’t exist any more.

One last thought..... check out Alibaba.com to see the proof.

This article is really good.

But you know, it is all things we have said here on FreeRepublic over and over again about Tokyo Rove.

At least he is finally getting what he deserves.

At least he is finally getting what he deserves.

We can hope this kind of criticism of "the architect" continues and gets enough dissemination to those who donated to the Rove pacs.......

Rove lost it after the second Bush election, he simply doesn't know how to win, what is right, or how to push the right buttons anymore.
