p.s. I cry out to God A LOT! I even fuss at him frequently when I get frustrated. It’s a good thing He is a good parent and tolerates my snotty attitudes, and forgives me. LOL

Good morning MoochPooch ((HUGS))
thanks for joining us.
This happened when I did the Favorite Love Story thread. Casablana was listed, and that night or the next I saw it listed on one channel (hubby recorded it for later viewing).

Good morning Connie Sweetie ((HUGS)).
I can’t remember where I was when I first saw We Were Soldiers, probably home and on tv. But like you I cried most of it, my heart ached as I watched the battle scenes...it can still grip me every time I watch it. To me it is one of the war stories that grips the heart and doesn’t let go.

UGH! Sand Pebbles. I had a hard time with the scene where they’re slicing the dude up (on the beach, I think)

Oh Yes...that is an amazing bit of cinematography! And the background music is Stephen Foster’s ‘Old Folks at Home” transposed to the minor and slowed down. Very Effective!
My little piano students really like Foster’s music. I did some simple arrangements of his songs, and then encourage them to add grace notes and a little syncopation to “Jazz them up Since “Old Folks At Home” (Swanee River) is our State Song, the kids all want to be the ONE who plays it in the Recital!
