Republican strategist Karl Rove huddled with a group of House GOP leaders in the office Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy Thursday morning to discuss the party's messaging efforts, Republicans familiar with the meeting said.

Details of Rove's presentation to a group of McCarthy's "whip team" — a subset of the broader conference tasked with educating the rank and file, rounding up votes on key bills and generally enforcing discipline within Republican ranks.

Following the meeting, several lawmakers could be heard instructing staff to setup meetings with Rove.

Maybe Karl “Turd Blossom” Rove is drumming up support to get Romney to run again?

After all, the GOP Elite endorsed Romney last time so why not this time too?

Karl Rove just can’t help but to play the game that he is so good at. There was a time not long ago when he was held up as conservative royalty, a sort of scheming king fighting against the Pelosi killer queen. So entrenched was he in the establishment that he damn near claimed Regan told him “you will carry on Republican values because you’re my best friend”. When he saw the failing popularity of the neocon movement and that the growing tea party was looking for somebody to love, he swooped in and started Crossroads super PAC. Suddenly he wasn’t establishment anymore as if he wasn’t a well educated insider but some everyman good old fashioned lover boy. The tea party success of 2010 let him scream to the media that ‘We are the champions of this election’. Drunk with the success and the fat bottomed girls of tea party groupies he was partying with, he was still telling liberal opponents “we will rock you at the polls!” right up to the 2012 elections, and the tea party faithful loved him for it. But that crazy little thing called love can fade awfully quickly when they see the emperor has no clothes. I saw his body language on his Fox News election night meltdown and we all thought that another one bites the dust, but no. Rove realizes that, like a charity bicycle race, it is not who crosses first but who collects the most cash along the way. The establishment yelled out ‘Here is a lot of money, won’t someone save me?” And on cue Rove jumps in and says “Don’t worry, now i’m here”. And even though the weakened tea party will warn him to ‘Don’t stop me now, when we have achieved so much or you will reap the consequences!’, I have little doubt that in a few election cycles they will again throw money at him. I want to break free of this short memory style of politics but i just don’t see it stopping…

..also seven seas of rhye.

Received an email from Rob Collins, Executive Director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, wanting money to gain more seats in Congress. Fat chance! As an independent who is basically conservative, why should I support a party who pretends to be conservative but acts like the opposition? Karl Rove has shown himself to be a loser and certainly not a conservative. His opposition to “Tea Party” candidates, whom I view as conservatives, has turned me against supporting a party of RINOs. Before anyone reacts, yes, I will vote for the lesser of two evils, the failure to vote being the same as casting two votes for the opposition. But I’ve learned my lesson with Romney; no more financial support to any candidate who does not mirror my personal beliefs. My support now goes to individuals, not parties, until and if one earns my support.

The Tea Party gave us Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Nikki Haley and Ron Johnson. I can’t think of any candidates Rove has backed that will make a difference in our future when it comes to defending American values and promotion conservatism.

Is Rove primarily (a) a confused political strategist, (b) an outrageous self-promoter, (c) a man basically lacking ability to actually analyze what makes voters lean the way they do, (d) an opportunist without real convictions, or (e) a bully, with whom rational discussion is virtually impossible?

The answer is all of the above.

Conservative constituents of any Congressman who has Rove lecturing his staff, should make it very clear that continuing such mistaken connections will end any future political contributions.

In the meanwhile, contrast the Tea Party victories in 2010 with the disaster that Rove led the Republican Party into in 2006.

Rove is being paid by some entities that will do as much damage to this country as the traitors across the aisle. Wonder who his paymasters are...CFR, Crony Corporist, Bush crime family, lefty Billionaire Club or Billionaire Jewish Casino owners or other lobby, foreign powers?
This may be the end of the Republican Party.

“Karl Rove Huddles With House Republican Leaders”

Well, you can’t say that it’s not appropriate: weak and ineffectual pseudocon leaders meet with pseudocon adviser who had an abysmal track record in 2012 despite spending $390,000,000.

These jokers define the word “defeated.”

These infil-traitors need to be drummed out of the party. If that doesn’t happen soon, the Tea Party should become the replacement party.

We are ourselves worst enemies. WE hate and loathe leftwing JournoListas such as buzzfeed and know enough not to turn our backs while these vermin are prowling, yet, when push comes to shove we eat up every last word out of these wolves’ mouths. What’s wrong with us??? We are throwing house furniture at each other while the monsters are setting fire to the house.

The article didn’t mention it, but I’m sure Grover “Mr.Amnesty” Norquist isn’t far behind. Where you find Rove, you find Grover.

Interesting, and congratulations on the book.

Did you get into Grover Norquist, Rove’s biggest facilitator?
He’s the guy Rove brought in to bring all the Muslims into the Bush Whitehouse and wrote the Bush/Rove amnesty. They go WAY back.

Thanks for the comments, but no, I did not get into Norquist. The book is about Rove’s influence on the establishment messaging and strategy, and outlines 20 years of failure, but is not in the weeds of who is doing back room deals with who.

There’s nothing wrong with a book of that focus mind you, but that’s not what this book is. Norquist is an enigma, has done some great work on taxes and on over all liberty at times, far more conservative than Rove is on those issues....but then there are his associations.......very troubling, and they don’t seem to make sense.
