Police in Christopher Dorner standoff launched incendiary tear gas into cabin
By CHUCK BENNETT and DAVID K. LI From Post Wires Last Updated: 6:14 AM, February 14, 2013
Murderous ex-cop Christopher Jordan Dorner wanted to go out in a blaze of glory and the sheriffs deputies who surrounded his California mountain hideout provided the flames.
The San Bernardino County cops torched the wooden cabin with highly flammable incendiary tear gas as Dorner took refuge Tuesday, apparently burning him to a crisp.
Burn this mf--er! one officer shouted as they had Dorner who had earlier killed a deputy and seriously wounded another pinned down in the cabin, according to police radio transmissions.
Amid sounds of gunfire, voices can be head shouting, Burn it down! and Shoot the gas!

Here is a gun grabbing scenario. The cops get a call about shots fired around your house (fabricated). They show up loaded for bear. Say you let them in, they take your guns and that’s it, guns gone forever. They can say they have to take your guns in for testing, etc. If you barricade and prepare to repel. You are now armed and dangerous and they can smoke you without any backlash.

“Nothing crazy about the manifesto”
Yeah, Dorner obssessed about something from grade school.
That’s not crazy?
And claiming it isn’t crazy is supportive of him...
Again, cursory glance.
I think the hostages were held for less than an hour. There is a UK press story where they are interviewed and describe their experience.
Actually, I also heard on the scanner that the LAPD swat was on scene, so I am not clear yet on exactly who was running things on the ground. There were also reports that the Feds were on scene and/ or involved.
Just answer me this...if it is proven that plan A was to burn the perp out and torch private property, after he was holed up and surrounded by some 2000 or so officers, are you ok with that?
Also what is your opinion of the shootings by the LAPD on innocent civilians the week before while they were on the hunt?

A claim that everyone Dorner has killed was related to his need for revenge.
“He’s not crazy!”
Again, cursory glance.
Fire destroys a lot of evidence.
First of all, he had already tried to bolt, and one deputy was killed and another wounded. And he continued to shoot at the LEOs. So I really don't have a problem with the application of lethal force in that situation.
Also what is your opinion of the shootings by the LAPD on innocent civilians the week before while they were on the hunt?
A bunch of morons. Someone needs to switch the entire department to decaf.
What was that “Low Energy Drink” they stuck in that school caffeteria a couple months back that made the kids lethargic, pass out, and vomit?
Give that to the Torrence PD and the LAPD.
“There would be no need to deny the burn out was deliberate, and intended to kill Dorner, if there was no risk of legal fallout for that mode of deadly force. “
The thing that disturbs me here is the police have not said, or shown, they gave Dorner any kind of final warning before using incendiary munitions. If they’d clearly given him a 5, 3, or 1 minute warning to come out or be burned out, then I’d have no problem. However, it just appears they chose to incinerate him and now they’re lying about their motivation for using the incendiary munitions, saying they didn’t intend to burn him out, although that’s exactly what they did intend to do, given the munitions. Hence, they’re getting into a lot of trouble they could have easily avoided at no real risk to themselves.
"Crazy" is an interesting adjective. It's been litigated, used casually, etc. And still, while it seems such a simple word, the range of mental capacity (or of depravity) it means to convey is substantial.
I might say somebody is crazy to spend $2,000 on a television set. And yet, I don't mean they are clinically insane, or legally insane, not knowing right from wrong.
Until you can flesh out how the word "crazy" was intended, your casting aspersions against Marcella is out of line.
The claims in support of Dorner in that thread were that his manifesto was NOT that of a kook.
Sorry, someone who obsesses over a ‘sleight’ from grade school and uses it as an excuse in a manifesto to excuse their behavior is indeed CRAZY.
It’s in his “shout outs” section of his manifesto where he shrieks at the Principal of his old school.
There are other things in there that prove he was nuts.
Couple his threat to kill people unrelated to his firing, for example the families of the officers, and couple that with his murder of the daughter of Randall Quan followed by his taunting phonecall about it.
That is crazy.
Plus the man had no honor, obviously.
If that doesn’t work, you bring in the ultimate weapon: his mother with a bullhorn!
He. was. shooting. at. them.
And his own manifesto said he wasn't going to be taken alive.
Why do you give so little credence to the fact that Dorner had killed one deputy at that location when trying to bolt, had wounded another, and continued to shoot at the LEOs? He was using lethal force, and the LEOs were justified under any sane scenario in reponding in kind.
There is insignificant probability of the police being held accountable for their actions, in this case.
I don't think they gave any warning to the paper delivery people, and the fellow (Surfer) who was shot at was first told, by the police, that he was free to go. He went, then he was rammed and shot at by a different officer from the same police force.
My general advice is just to watch, be critical of what you hear (from all sides), and form your own independent opinion.
I personally don't find the police to be credible. It's a self-serving fraternity.
I would caution to differentiate those who question police tactics in this or any case from a Constitutional, ethical, due process or plain common sense approach as opposed to those who are, with varying degrees of virulence, reflexively anti-authority/anti-police. The former are concerned as we all should be that the right things are done, the right way and for the right reasons.
The latter tend to throw around pejoratives like “badge licker”. This forum is littered with posts promising or promoting violence against police in response to sparsely reported cases or entirely dreamt up scenarios. This is neither helpful nor informative. Unfortunately these are endemic at FR.
The hand of the law should rest as lightly as possible on us consistent with maintaining peace, protecting property rights and defending the vulnerable. There is plenty of room for debate as to where that line lies. Law enforcement must always be under the firm control of representative civil authority. Citizens at large and, most urgently the police themselves must continuously ask themselves if their actions and tactics conform to and advance liberty, justice and Constitutional fidelity.
How can you prove that HE did it?
Let me give you some background on that particular issue.
Do you know why the RIAA and they MPAA dropped prosecutions of people downloading and uploading music and video?
Because they kept losing in court when the defense pointed out they had no proof who was operating the computer especially once wireless routers became the norm.
So all you know is that SOMEONE posted a manifesto on a Facebook page that is allegedly owned by Dorner.
Remember the people that are reporting these supposed facts (The MSM and the Government) are the same people who assured us the reason our Ambassador in Benghazi was killed because some wanna be Movie produce put a video up on youtube.
I did not ask you about ‘lethal force’, I asked you about torching private property. Property that did not belong to the perp.
Thank you for your answer to question #2. We agree on that point.
Yup, you’re going to claim he didn’t write it.
You could have just said “Yes.”
Funny, it said he was going to go after teh families of those he saw as wronging him.
And guess what, he did kill the daughter of one Randall Quan.
Just as he said he would.
