Police in Christopher Dorner standoff launched incendiary tear gas into cabin
By CHUCK BENNETT and DAVID K. LI From Post Wires Last Updated: 6:14 AM, February 14, 2013
Murderous ex-cop Christopher Jordan Dorner wanted to go out in a blaze of glory and the sheriffs deputies who surrounded his California mountain hideout provided the flames.
The San Bernardino County cops torched the wooden cabin with highly flammable incendiary tear gas as Dorner took refuge Tuesday, apparently burning him to a crisp.
Burn this mf--er! one officer shouted as they had Dorner who had earlier killed a deputy and seriously wounded another pinned down in the cabin, according to police radio transmissions.
Amid sounds of gunfire, voices can be head shouting, Burn it down! and Shoot the gas!

If this killer had been a Republican - member of the NRA and anti-Union do you think the New York Times and Washington Post would mention it? Like in the first paragraph or maybe the headlines?
And maybe a hundred times on CNN?
Instead he’s a Democrat who’s FOR GUN CONTROL and he’s a Union members. Odd how they’re NOT making a big deal of that... They would if it was reversed.
Jerkwads.

Funny, there’s post 41 there denying Dorner is a liberal icon.

Post 42 there tries to say that because teh cops are screwballs all too often that must mean Dorner is okay.
And I’m NOT the only one to note idiots supporting Dorner on FR.
SargeK noted it as well.

900 plus post monster, had plenty of whines over how Dorner was being denied his rights even as he was shooting at police.. which justifies return fire.
Thank you for your post and yes, of course... I would have been fine had Dorner been killed in the running gun battle. In fact, I would probably never have questioned a thing had I not heard the scanner stuff with my own ears. It gave me pause and deep concerns about due process and private property rights in the long view of things with Obama and Holder in charge. We have a government putting out official government documents describing Tea Party people, gun owners and even our own military as potential terrorists for God’s sake!! Yes, I am very nervous about creeping fascism.
“There need to be firings and charges brought over it at the least.”
Right on. The LE community and the gov’t need to clean up these loose ends in order to maintain their credibility (such as it is) with the citizens of this country. To their credit, the military does that when their guys screw up. There was a time when it sounded crazy that there were investigations after firefights in Iraq and Afgh, but they happened and Soldiers were convicted of violation the RoE, when appropriate. For the most part, the military has maintained an excellent rapport with its country doing the right thing even when individuals screw up. Municipalities need to do the same thing.
How about this - let's have the courts decide when you have the right to self defense in the face of lethal force against you - AFTER the incident.
That is basically what you are demanding here of the SBSD in the face of a running firefight where one of their deputies was killed.
So now you’re going to claim he didn’t write his manifesto?
And post it to Facebook?
Interesting track to take.
Then debate the points, sir. Don’t denigrate yourself or your service by utilizing puerile insults and calling me a child. I’m a grown man with a Hell of a lot of respect for this country and her laws. I don’t make it a point to be on FR and lurk. I am as active here as I am in my local Knights of Columbus chapter, my church, volunteering in local hospitals, Scouts, and political organizations.
I have respect for veterans, but I know plenty of them who are content simply waiting to die and not wanting to teach any one any lessons from their lives. If you have someone constructive to offer, then do so. Your fighting days may be over, but that doesn’t mean that the rest of us are just going to turn over and pray that the overlords in DC don’t kill us.
Yeah, saw that too.
Nerf bats and wiffle balls weren’t going to get this guy to surrender.
Cookies and milk weren’t going to get him to surrender.
He murdered a mans daughter, called him to taunt him, posted a manifesto online stating his intentions to kill and die, and someone thinks he’ll be taken alive?
Yes, the “chummy chummy don’t rat out bad cops” crap has to end and the ranks culled of bad cops.
Closing ranks and having that “us vs them” “Insider vs Outsider” mentality is bad.
And leads to distrust of police as well as more police abuses.
What an EMBARRASSMENT that the cops made their command center only 300 yrds from where Dorner was hiding for days with 2-hostages.
None of your links demonstrates this. Perhaps you can post one specific instance so that I may be convinced.
When Obama and that type try to take away citizens guns they'll bring in foreign nationals or members of a trained 'private army'.
Iran had the same problem some years back when they wanted to stomp on student protesters. The everyday Iranian police were connected, related etc to those kids... They weren't willing to do what the elites wanted. Elite thugs running Iran had to bring in outsiders - goons from the country-side and other countries to rough up hometown students. Elite sh*ts of all cultures have things in common...ours and theirs. And so do good people. Few - very few people from your local police department are going to burn out their neighbors and friends for owning guns. It's not going to happen.
“those gun owners that bravely say on this and other blogs that they will just shoot anyone from the government coming to seize their weapons.”
Those guys are idiots. The smart thing to do is to keep a couple cheap, old guns at home to hand over when they show up, and stash your good stuff somewhere else. Then, you can pick off the tyrants at your leisure, instead of letting them pick the battlefield.
I’m wondering just what the incompetents plans were.
He failed at stealing a boat [fine training he had, we were assured he was a master ninja], broke a pickup truck, burned it and made a beacon out of it, stole a vehicle that was out of gas, and crashed another one.
The only upshot is that he’s dead and now Torrrence PD and LAPD can stop shooting up pickup trucks and we have information on how to drive law enforcement bonkers.
Only thing missing was Yakkety Sax playing in the background.
good, and I hope his death was full of unimaginable misery and pain. He deserved every bit of it.
good, and I hope his death was full of unimaginable misery and pain. He deserved every bit of it.
"...and uhh, I'm glad you're dead."
Cripes, this was a local sheriff's department in the face of a running gun battle where one deputy had already been killed - by a man with a long trail of death and violence behind him. It has NO bearing on creeping fascism under those circumstances. Just as you don't have to wait for due process if someone is shooting at you to resort to lethal force in return, neither should the SBSD in that situation.
Really.
Claiming Dorner is NOT a liberal hero doesn’t do it for you?
Trying to paint him as a good guy because there are bad cops doesn’t do it for you?
Or are you just being dishonest because you don’t like it being pointed out?
I saw it on a cursory glance of the forum.
Same here. Dorner isn't the issue. The burning of the 14th Amendment is. LEOs know when they sign up that they risk their lives to uphold the Constitution and the rule of law. They are to conduct themselves accordingly, and I hope and pray the majority of police do. Once they put on the badge they are held to a higher standard. Burning Dorner alive doesn't cut it. LEOs are supposed to be trained to keep a cooler head than some wackjob. They shouldn't let their personal emotions ruin their duty to the law. This incident makes it appear like there was revenge on their part. Either we're a civilized nation of laws or anarchy prevails. Can't have both.
