MCLEAN, Va. A top official with the Federal Aviation Administration reassured the public on Wednesday that, despite the fear and paranoia of some, no armed drones will be permitted to fly in U.S. airspace. We currently have rules in the books that deal with releasing anything from an aircraft, period. Those rules are in place and that would prohibit weapons from being installed on a civil aircraft, said Jim Williams, head of the FAA's Unmanned Aircraft Systems Integration Office, in an address to the drone industrys leading trade group meeting this week in Northern Virginia.

Drones don’t have arms, they have wings.
Doesn’t Diane Feinstein count as an armed drone?
“...despite the fear and paranoia of some...”
Lets see, in the style of some sort of futuristic drama, our government (local sheriffs, local police, federal agencies of all stripes) are accumulating an exponentially growing arsenal of unmanned aerial vehicles...
...They are currently using them to spy on Americans and ensure they COMPLY with federal regulations on farms...
...we know that these drones are currently being used throughout the world to commit assassinations...
....we learned last week that at least one of these assassinations was deliberately carrid out against an American (born in Denver), with absolutely no due process...
...and we’re paranoid!?!? to imagine that the fleet of drones flying above could easily be armed? And used against US citizens?
Sure, we’re the crazy ones.
I have no training in the physics of ballistics but I imagine the effective range of a shotgun is enhanced considerably if it is shooting down from above. Accelerating 00 buck to muzzle velocity and then allowing gravity to assist could allow the drones to fly completely out of return fire range and still pose an effective threat. But what do I know?
until they are allowed.
we just don’t know when that change will occur.
next false flag, probably.
Wikipedia sez “I know nothing about MARSA!”
I imagine the ability of a drone to stealthily creep up to your bedroom window and blow your head off while you sleep gives it a bit of an advantage.

“No armed drones in US”
Hahahaha, that’s a real funny! A big knee slapper! What a corker that Jim Williams fellow is.
Not sure what you’re getting at. I’m a retired USAF air traffic controller. MARSA means “Military Assumes Responsibility for Separation of Aircraft” and refers to when 2 or more aircraft are separated by less than standard air traffic separation. This is commonly done in formation flights and in-flight refueling. I don’t see where it has anything to do with weapons released by drones.
ping!
Yes MARSA, why is what he says a lie, other than he is from this admin. What do you think MARSA has to do with weapons, and how does it make this statement a lie?
So, the stroke of Obunga's pen can change the rules about armed civil aircraft whenever he feels like it.
You know what ever it is a gub mint person is saying it’s a lie.
“MARSA, MARSA, MARSA!”
Exactly!
We currently have rules in the books that deal with releasing anything from an aircraft, period. Those rules are in place and that would prohibit weapons from being installed on a civil aircraft,
And our dear leader just loves to follow the rules like the Constitution.
Jim Williams needs to stand his ground. This is still a free country and if we all stand up to the thugs and monsters it'll stay that way. In spite of creepy horrible liberals this is NOT a country that kills it's own citizens from un-manned airplanes.
It’s the MAR part of MARSA that we need to be worried about. It’s the “rules are for civilians” part; analogous to “taxes are for the little people” (Leona Helmsley).
Soon it’ll mean Military Assumes Responsibility for the Shooting of Agitators.
**FAA Official: No Armed Drones In U.S.**
“Executive order allowing armed drones to assist in the elimination to threats to national security in 3...2...1...”
I can’t imagine there not being such an order already, especially for Secret Service armed drones to protect POTUS!
