Wheels coming off... ObamaCare policies will cost more, cover far fewer than promised
New York Post ^ | February 10, 2013 | BETSY MCCAUGHEY

The Affordable Care Act is looking less and less affordable.

Start with the IRS’s new estimate for what the cheapest family plan will cost by 2016: $20,000 a year to cover two adults and three kids. And that will only cover 60 percent of medical bills, so add hefty out-of-pocket costs, too.

The next surprise is for parents who thought their kids would be covered by an employer. Sloppy wording in the law left that unclear until last week, when the IRS ruled that kids won’t be covered.

Starting in 2014, the law will require employers with 50 or more full-time employees to offer coverage or pay a penalty. “Affordable” coverage, that is — meaning the employee can’t be told to contribute more than 9.5 percent of his salary. For example, a worker earning $40,000 a year cannot be required to pay more than $3.800.

But the law doesn’t specifically mandate family coverage — and now the administration says that won’t be required.

Welfare stats:

blacks=39.8%
whites=38.8%
hispanic=15.7%

Looks like only 1% different in the two biggest groups.

Raw numbers wise there are more whites in America so there would be more whites on welfare.

As I read through this entire thread, your are the only one I see who has commented about the role of Congress in this. Last time I checked, the House still controls the purse strings. Yet, I've heard not a word about this Republican House refusing to fund this thing. Why is that?

Because, unlike most spending bills, Obamacare was pre-authorized and pre-funded all the way through final implementation by the initial act.

The current House cannot de-fund Obamacare unless and until the Senate also acts to withdraw the funding. And, even then, such a withdrawal of funding could be vetoed by the President.

Fat chance, huh?

We lost our chance to repeal Obamacare when we failed to win the presidency and a majority in the Senate.

On the way into work this am, I got behind a car that had a bumper sticker that read “I love Obamacare”. I wonder how much he would love it if he took the time to find out just some of the details. The sticker made me sick.

My opinion? Socialists are working at a fever-pitch to destroy PRIVATE insurance in any form so we’ll all move to a Single Payer system.

That’s been the deal all along. You always gotta look at the end game with the Commies. It’s all about absolute control over every aspect of our lives.

Oh, and stuffing their pockets as they do it. B@stards.

Let’s go one better.

Game. Set. Match. Even if the IRS estimate is off, the middle class will be crushed. And that Obamaphone woman will be begging.

ObamaCare is still a rough justice wealth transfer from white to minority. If some welfare whites benefit then this is just the cost of doing business as far as the Obama crowd is concerned.

Want a real anti-white racist program? Check out the multi-billion dollar “Millennium Scholarships” of the Bill&Melinda Gates Foundation. Po’ white students need not apply

I've heard this disclosure before, I believe from Michele Bachmann. Yet, if our (supposed) side is half as good as they claim to be, I would think they could figure a way to starve this thing. But, they are who they are, intimidated by the Left and their media.

For the time, lets just say there is no way to defund Obamacare. Why not then refuse to fund other unnecessary government programs and agencies, using the fact that Obamacare is going to take Billions more to implement than originally disclosed?

Much like the Amnesty issue, when does the Republican Party draw a line in the sand and say, “enough is enough”. Is the fear of losing political power worth losing the Country most of us grew up in?

I'm sorry to be replying like this, but as days go by it certainly appears that both of our major political parties are actually participating in “fundamentally transforming” our Country.

There are going to be a LOT of 49 employee businesses out there, some of which are 55 or 59 employee companies now

... and a lot of employees working 29-hour weeks.

Thanks BulletBobCo. Medical Care Spending Accounts should be required of employers -- those allow the employee to budget for their own healthcare, and to pay their existing employee insurance premiums out of pre-tax earnings (catastrophic healthcare claim coverage would be much cheaper).

Why not then refuse to fund other unnecessary government programs and agencies, using the fact that Obamacare is going to take Billions more to implement than originally disclosed?

Because, currently the Congress is not involved in the appropriation of any spending.

Recall that there has not been a budget approved for four years now. Consequently, all of the appropriations are now a function of "The Current Services Baseline" -- which uses last year's expenditures and increases them by a specified amount (usually 5-to-9%) for "inflation".

Until the House and Senate both sign off on a budget, this procedure will continue -- even though the Senate is breaking its own rules.

The only control the House has over any spending is in the negotiations over the debt limit and continuing resolutions.

Harry and the Democrats weren't dummies. Once they passed Obamacare, they knew they'd lose the House in the 2010 by-election -- so they adopted a cynical and deceitful policy that essentially shut the House out of the budgetary process.

Now you are beginning to see the picture...all of your money really belongs to the gov, the banks and the school systems.

They have made it impossible for the average person to accumulate wealth without forgoing children...

They can use various mandatory insurances to drive your every move.

When the hyper-wealthy run out of good investments, what do they do? They start wars and create massive markets out of thin air by passing new laws.

Now everyone get into debt like good little piggies!

I think you’re reading the numbers wrong, but without more context I can’t tell. What it looks like is that those are the stats of all of the people on welfare, not the raw stats of the entire us proportion of welfare recipients per capita.

There are far more white people than black people in this country - FACT! if the whole of welfare recipients is made up mostly of the three groups you outline, which the numbers say just slightly less than 95% of all recipients are in the three groups), well then... That paints a different picture now doesn’t it?

That would mean that blacks as a portion of the populace far in a way exceed whites as a portion of the populace welfare recipient-wise (IOW, they have a much greater percentage as a whole representing their group to make numbers like that [classic over-representation, or bias if you will]).

I’d like to be proven wrong, but I doubt that will be the case.

They get an initial boost in premiums. Then hand out bonuses and walk, leaving a mess behind.

They know the game is over, so they are cashing in.
