The Affordable Care Act is looking less and less affordable.
Start with the IRSs new estimate for what the cheapest family plan will cost by 2016: $20,000 a year to cover two adults and three kids. And that will only cover 60 percent of medical bills, so add hefty out-of-pocket costs, too.
The next surprise is for parents who thought their kids would be covered by an employer. Sloppy wording in the law left that unclear until last week, when the IRS ruled that kids wont be covered.
Starting in 2014, the law will require employers with 50 or more full-time employees to offer coverage or pay a penalty. Affordable coverage, that is meaning the employee cant be told to contribute more than 9.5 percent of his salary. For example, a worker earning $40,000 a year cannot be required to pay more than $3.800.
But the law doesnt specifically mandate family coverage and now the administration says that wont be required.

"Someone said he thought that 0 was trying to destroy the country. I said no. I just changed my mind."
you're right about that- it was NEVER about helping people, it was about government takeover.
“Lets see, an example:
2 adults, 3 kids with $100,000/year income
20% of income and only 60% coverage (another $5,000?)
25% of gross income just cover health insurance
And that will be only if the health care costs dont go up!”
Let’s go one better.
Family of 5 brings in 100,000 dollars a year. 28% fed taxes. Now have 72,000. 12% SS tax, now have 60,0000. State tax 8.25(blue state) now have 51,0000. Mortgage, let’s call it 2,000 a month. We now have 27,000. Knock off the 20,000 if or Obamacare. That family of 5 now has 7,000 a year to pay for food, gas, clothes, sales tax. And anything else that they may need.
So a family that makes 100,000 dollars a year is basically living in poverty.
Yeah, that'll help. Sure.
The Obama disaster rolls on...
Be nice to your vet.
If he wants to destroy insurance companies and make it all single payer government healthcare, why did the insurance companies push for approval of the monster?
Government will pay and the insurance companies will administer and get something from the Fed for their work.
And who, pray, tell, is surprised by this “revelation?” Those of us with sanity and logic knew the outcome from the beginning.
Juat sayin’.
The details didn’t matter, that’s why Pelosi could blithely say, “We have to pass it to know what’s in it”. It didn’t matter what the details were or if they made sense or clashed with other details, because this legislation in and of itself was never the point. Using it to crash the system of healthcare in this country is the point, in order to then enact nationalised “healthcare”.
Just like we are already seeing legislators coming out calling for handgun control, before the smoke has cleared on all the trumped-up calls for control on “assault weapons”, onerous registration and permit requirements, etc.
Just like the DOMA wlll be dismissed without debate, after it’s gutted by the death of a thousand cuts through various ways.
These are all examples of leftist/marxist incrementalism at its finest. It’s also an example of how they stir up phoney public “debates” on certain issues, while quietly keeping other issues out of the public square so they can deal with them as they please-ie, “deflection” when they don’t have the upper hand on an issue (and they decide which issues will get the attention as it suits their need at the moment).
Now that it's left the starting line, the fog is dissipating to reveal the steamroller SOME of us said it would be all along and it's here to stay—with a few “adjustments” guaranteed to screw everybody all the more!
They can’t ask him that when they also exempted themselves and their staffers.

Obama mandated that 30 hours a week was a “full-time employee” and must be covered by Obamacare.
So businesses laid off any over 49 employees and cut everyone’s hours to 29 hours.
Congrats white lefties!
You get to have 1-2-3 more fun jobs in your (now) spare time!
An unemployed single minority woman on welfare with 3 kids and all the govt freevies makes $70,000 a year
A working white family of the same size pays taxes and their bills and mortgage and only makes $40,000 a year
“It’s only fair!”
Reparations!
Redistribution!
Reelection!

They’ll move the goalposts just as soon as it suits them. When the rule of law is dead, the rule of whim is what you’ll get.
All I can say to that is that there must be something in it for them, and they didn’t see the big picture and never believed that that was his plan. They wouldn’t be the only ones who didn’t.
“The Affordable Care Act is looking less and less affordable.”
Affordable to all those that needed the 2008 Bailout: 1. Investment scam MBS banking, 2.Insurance companies, 3. Government pensions in the stock market.
All “The Exempt Ones”
I spent 2 hours on the phone with my company's insurance broker on Friday. She said to really make sure the govt doesn't look closely at you, bring that count down to 48, and do it soon. If you suddenly drop to 49 right before the new "accounting for employers" starts (which is March of this year, I think), they will be looking at you.
Also some interesting information, if you are under the 50 thresh hold, you do not have to offer insurance at all, but all of your employees will be required to have it in one form or another for year 2013, because when you file taxes in 2014 is when the tax/penalty will kick in if you (the individual) doesn't have insurance for the prior year.
Also, the "shall issue" policy doesn't kick in until Jan 2014.
It was quite the conversation, and a huge learning experience, that's for sure.
“If he wants to destroy insurance companies and make it all single payer government healthcare, why did the insurance companies push for approval of the monster?”
That’s right, and they backed Massachusetts Mitt all along.
And all the “fail by design” groupies, let’s see a quote from an “insurance” CEO that claims this will happen.
