Our FReepathon. I did not have any money to give more to my favorite site. However, I did have a few gift cards, with small balances just sitting around.
I checked each and everyone of them to see how much was left. I had 4 in total (one was for .50 cents, lol).
The other 3 totaled $30.77. I was not sure if a cc charge was applied for donations, so I contacted onyx whom referred me to Jim Robinson.
Those last 3 donations from NY posted, were from me and my gift cards, sitting there collecting dust.
If any of you have gift cards sitting around, check the balance. There is a minimum of $3.00 for cc donation to FR.
Smart idea.....when you check the balances left, write down the last 4 numbers of the acct # and write down the amount left. Makes it SO much easier to process to the FReepathon.
I KNOW there are a lot of you with those gifts cards laying around collecting dust because of the small balances left.
THEY ADD UP! If only 10 FReepers had a collection of $30 seperate gift cards, that's an additional $300 bucks!
So go ahead, look in your drawers, wallets, closets, where ever you keep those cards. Look up the balance and donate them to FR!
Thanks! Thought of it on Thursday, but didn’t have anytime to find out info and post.
I am now snowbound (yay) and thought today would be a perfect day to do it.
Ping....just in case you had any laying around. =)
Remember, our kitties are twins!
No prob boss!
Great idea!
I’ll scope around for some.
Thanks!! Nothing worse than unused money, which is why I kept them.
Now what to do with my .50 cent one......
Hahahaha. I have 3 “store” ones that are just sitting here.
Guess I have to go shopping, ugh!!
I have 3 store ones. I HATE shopping, but I hate to waste money even more.
I wish there was a way we could exchange our store ones, which one WILL use, in exchange for cash to be donated to FR.
Too many freaky trolls here though to set up such a trust system though.
To all you freaky trolls....I HATE YOU.
Visa, Mastercard, Amex gift cards, where does one get these from? Every gift card I have received has been for a specific store or a bunch of different restaurants owned by one company.
You could be right about the first shot happening in NY, thanks to your Communist governor Cuomo.
That guy is out to lunch, right along with the tiny tyrant mayor of NYC.
Thanks, hope you find some!
Everywhere! People giving you specific gift cards to stores probably think “I like them, so will you”.
When I give gift cards, I always give a cc one. That way they can use it for whatever they’d like, even to pay a bill (which I have done with several gift cards).
Ugh, the 2 of them. God help them (and me) if I ever come face to face with them.
To anyone “monitoring”...that WAS NOT a threat. I just have a smarta$$ mouth....
LOL. Right, that’s NOT a threat.
I should pay cash for that stuff anyway.
Thank you sweetie!!! I would have never pulled that one off!!
Damn those boating accidents! Been hearing about them all across the country. Sorry for your loss =(.
Cash is king.....=)
No problem at all. I’ll ping our Team next.
FReepers might also do something along the lines of what I’ve been doing for years. I keep track of my loose change in my little purse, and donate the equivalent of the amount gathered weekly between each FReepathon.
If all of us just checked the change on hand in pockets or purses right at this moment — and donated it by CC, it would come to a tidy amount.
I don’t know about other states but here in Washington, if your card balance is less than $5.00 you can just cash it out at the store or whatever business it came from. Turn those small balance cards into real bucks and send it to FR.
