A generation of “little savages” raised in nurseries as daycare is linked to aggression in toddlers

A rapid increase in nursery places has led to a generation of violent “little savages”, psychologist Oliver James has warned.

James, the best-selling author of books on child-rearing, said ministerial proposals to allow child carers to look after more youngsters would fuel aggression in the under-threes, which would have lasting effects.

Shoving youngsters in to nurseries was simply “warehousing” them so that the government could push mothers back to work to reap income for the Exchequer, he argued. …

James pointed to a study in America, which tracked youngsters for 15 years. It showed a correlation between the hours placed with nursery to increased aggression and bad behavior, reported by both parents and nursery workers. “Studies show there is a direct link between how many hours you spend in daycare up to the age of 4½ and how aggressive you are.” …

He’s got company. Orwell and Huxley don’t get much credit either. And considering the left uses their most famous works as ‘how-to’ manuals for governance nearly verbatim, you’d think they would.

I find it amusing an a sad way that you can take those two books and find about anything the left does in them. Yet people scream ‘Tinfoil!” when you point it out. Even when you read them chapter and verse.

No hope. None.

NL: “There is one truth I have never, EVER seen fail. “History repeats”.”

That saddens me, but it’s true. Look at all the misery created by socialism and communism in the 20th Century. Yet, our dear president seems to think it will work here, that we can have all our needs met if government acts as a fairness arbiter. It’s been tried before, President Obama. It doesn’t work!

What’s even sadder is we have the benefit of far, far more information than previous generations. There’s so much information available online to whoever wants it. Yet, we’re still going to go down this road toward fairness, social justice, and equality, even though any fool can see where it’s leading.

You can also see where the immorality leads. Even if we somehow turn the clock back on government, you can’t build a healthy society using ruined families. Divorce, out of wedlock births, institutionalized child rearing, etc.. Some people hate the 50s, but look how many children grew up in stable, loving families back then. It wasn’t perfect, but the social ills were generally confined to small areas. Now it’s spreading everywhere.

What saddest of all? It doesn’t really matter, culturally speaking, how hard you and I try to be responsible citizens and parents. It doesn’t matter how hard we try to educate ourselves and make wise choices with our votes. We’re along for the ride.

Oh, I agree somewhat with your point about income. People want a lot of things, big TVs, new cars, huge houses, etc. In the past, single earner families had less toys (that’s really what most of it is. They aren’t needs. They’re wants). The typical family back then didn’t have a TV in every room, likely had only one car, and generally lived in much smaller houses. However, the cost of living does seem much higher now. There used to be plenty of jobs, for example, where a single earner could make enough to raise a family. Nowadays? Not so much.

Back then, people wore humble clothing (Sears, Montgomery Wards, homemade, second-hand and mended), drove humble cars (the legendary station wagon, which all the kids learned to drive in), ate humble meals (TV dinners, hot dogs, fish sticks, the occasional restaurant meal at a local coffee shop), and pursued humble amusements (the local library, family drives, movies out only very rarely). Now everything is throwaway, each kid has to have a car, all clothing is "designer" and all food is "gourmet." Nothing is normal anymore.

I once worked with a reporter, who UNEXPECTEDLY!!! went to work for an East coast state Dem pol. He was the stereotype lib made flesh.

No matter how much reality you shoved down his throat, no matter how many pages of historical proof his beliefs were all a disastrous lie, none of it mattered. His vision, the lib vision was holy writ. And he literally said it failed before because the wrong people were in charge. Literally. No joke.

We will be living in the Road Warrior movie shortly. The only good thing about that is death, disease, slavery and exposure to the elements will kill off most of his mindset.

Most with our mindset will come together to survive it. Assuming Obama doesn’t nuke us just to ‘win’.

A lot of moral and responsible people will be harmed right along with those who create the chaos. However, I agree. Who is more likely to survive, a welfare mom who is totally dependent on an EBT card and other handouts or someone who is used to doing things for themselves? Who is more likely to do OK? A feminist studies major, a racial grievances expert, or a plumber? The natural order of things will reassert itself eventually.

Take away the right of the parent to paddle their little butts and you get a generation of “little savages”.

Primitive and untrue.

You do not need to beat people in order to civilize them. I am not opposed to spanking in 100% of situations but in 80% of situations, hitting children doesn’t civilize them. You do not civilize by fear but by desire. They should want to grow up to be happy, organized, fair, decent, kind, and effective like you are, their hero.

A little swat on the tush when a child runs into traffic is perfectly fine. You want fear there, because that kind of fear will save their life. Beating them in general for being toddlers makes them weaker and meaner. The best people are the ones who choose goodness out of meaningful desire. It takes getting through the youngest years and putting up with baby behavior, with love and amusement and patience. No child is ever loved too much.

Never expect more out of a little child than their age allows, and keep them in a safe home environment where they have safe freedom to explore, most of the time. If you truly accept them as the babies and new little people they are, their behavior will be “good.” Change your perspective if not. Preschools are storage units for the most part. Not a good atmosphere for MOST kids.

If I have any hope left in me at all, it’s that once things get rolling and the oxen of the ‘not totally kool aid drinking’ libs gets gored, they will question it and be shunned by their ‘comrades’. At that point, the scales tip.

Side note: When I was Ed at Off-Road.com and fighting the Landuse wars, The National Mountain Bike Association hopped willingly into bed with the Sierra Club to close ‘multiple use’ trails and areas. And together, they enjoyed great success.

When the ‘No off-Road vehicles’ signs went up in these areas, the bikers noticed the ‘No bicycles’ symbol right next to the circle-slashed Jeep symbol.

The sierra Club responded thus...

“We said no mechanized recreation...what did you think we meant? Mountain bikes are evil too.”

And on that day, many ‘conservatives’ were born.

I happen to believe that the liberating movements of our time are devised and thought up, not for the people they are supposed to champion, but to splinter society.

In the case of women’s liberation, if the state gets the women out of the house working, they can get to the children and bring them up. I think that has been the game plan all along.

Interesting that a liberal lashes out at a situation that would not exist if not for the liberal revolution that changed things so the average family cannot get by with one paycheck...

The contemporary state is at war with human society, and it is winning. People everywhere seem determined to learn about socialism the hard way.

Luckily for humanity, even the worst of these socialist scourges eventually burn themselves out.

There are no thousand-year reichs.

Parents even justify daycare, saying it will help their children socialize better.

I chose to work very limited hours (only 1 night a week when my husband could be home with the kids) and homeschool when my kids were young. I really had to defend my choice and seek out support with like-minded groups. Many people consider what I did very negatively. If you quit or work part-time you are throwing away your education and not giving your children all you can monetarily. Don’t put them in day-care/school and you are socially depriving them for your own selfish satisfaction of having them at home. Some even suggested that even though I was home I put them in a daycare a few days a week just so they would get used to it and learn to socialize! People were always amazed at how well-behaved and ‘socialized’ they were- how can that be when they don’t spend 10 hours a day with other kids? Sometimes I would get get the comment ‘they are so NORMAL- I’m surprised that you homeschool’!

It is interesting that in almost all situations people will work out a way that works best, then use it for years without problems.

Then there shows up someone who says...”I’m from the Government. I’m here to help!” and everything that worked goes to hell in a handbasket.

You are right.

Yesterday I went into a beauty supply store to return an item. The only other customers there were two women and a little boy. The little boy was running around, hollering and screaming, and pulling things off the shelves. It’s a small shop, and that yelling really echoed. The checkout girl was repeatedly interrupted in her work by the kid running behind the counter and pulling on her arm. And the mother never ONCE said a single word.

When I was a kid, I tried that kind of thing with my mother...once. She paddled my rear end right then and there, and I never did it again.

It has been established that children raised by a single parent is 60% more likely to criminally offend than one raised in a heterosexual two-parent family.

This is because children with male and female parents are raised in a “success” mode; but those raised by a single parent are raised in a “survival” mode. These “survival oriented” children compete for single advantage, not cooperate for mutual advantage, and as teenagers are far more likely to become gang members and substance abusers.

Young children do best with a tight affiliation to just their family until *about* age five. They need lots of physical contact to neurologically develop, and a strong understanding of who is family, and who is not, and that if they feel any risk or possible threat, they need to rejoin their family immediately.

This does not mean complete isolation, but that their parents need to be nearby when there are strangers, even in day care. Just abandoning them there, even for a few hours, almost assures they will feel risk and have no one to flee to.
