Imagine if President George W. Bush or senior members of his administration asserted that they had the power to assassinate any person, including American citizens on American soil, because they merely suspected them of being involved in a terrorist plot.
Now, imagine that they went a step further and claimed that this broad new power was not subject to any oversight by Congress or the judiciary or international law.
A lot of left-wingers would be apoplectic. And they would be right.
Sadly, a Democratic president, Barack Obama, and senior national security officials in his administration appear to be wielding just that kind of power without any oversight, according to a memorandum outlining the extent of the U.S. drone program uncovered by NBC News Investigative Reporter Michael Isikoff.
Yet, the absence of national outrage is deafening.

Wow! Welcome to the club Juan!
Yeah, and what about the TSA, NSA, SSA arming up and buying millions of rounds of ammo.???
Could Juan be in the process of ending his support of Obama?
The Left won’t criticize their own, no matter what. But when a Republican finally gets back in office, it will be a Naziesque war crime........
STFU Juan. This maniac in chief’s tendancies toward Hitler-like edicts and proclomations shaping his own reality to suit himself have been life-long and steady. If Juan’s having an epiphany, keep it to Juan.
Nah. Juan drank the Obama Kool-Aid a long time ago and his blinders are permanentaly fused on the sides of his face; just above his brown nose. Uh . . I know, I know . . though not intended I know that is RACIST.
Juan, Juan....
you silly little naive liberal...
you haven’t gotten it yet, have you?
It’s not about what they SAY their ideals are,
because they only have ONE ideal - POWER.
Don't be ridiculous.
Neither Juan, nor anybody else in the MSM, nor any card-carrying liberal, will "end their support" for The One -- regardless of what totalitarian line he might cross.
Unless he starts saying conservative things...
There’s lots of outrage, but as expected, it’s partisan outrage, just as it would be if GW did it.
The Seattle Police Dept. bought a drone. The City Council proposed laws when and where it could be used.
The outcry from the locals has been loud and vocal (the usual suspects).
So yesterday the mayor ordered the SPD to cease the drone project and better place their effort on community outreach.
The drone will be returned to the manufacturer.
Nothing in the breathless news anchor reports about the SPD drone issue said squat about Obama’s drone plans.
Well, Juan is absolutely correct. And for the record, I am neither a Code Pinko, a libertarian or a Paulite. No burden of proof, no due process, no defining of imminent threat, no ackowledgement of just who it is that decides which Americans can be terminated by drone. This is the way of monarchies and fascists, not of constitutional republics.
Juan is and always will be a giant douche bag
Now watch what happens wo Juan. they will say he has been brainwashed by his bosses because he works for FOX news.
And they will attack Juan, and ignore the message.
I hope he enjoys the same experience that he and his libtards friends dished out to conservatives for years.
The libs will make him pay for straying from the plantation.
Blind squirrels and acorns come to mind.
C'mon Juan. Drink that koolaid.
Bush ordered a total of 50 drone strikes in his 8 years in office.
Obama, with just half that time in office, has so far ordered over 350 drone strikes. That’s not just a bit more, that’s 7 TIMES as many as the President that Big Leftist Media constantly portrayed as a “war criminal” - so where’s the media outrage now??
Instead, all we get is crickets or ass-kissing from Big Media.
True, but even a douche bag finds a nut on occasion.
