Jesse Jackson Jr. Signs Plea Deal In Federal Probe
NBC Chicago ^ | 2-8-13 | Mary Ann Ahren

Posted on 02/08/2013 9:44:37 AM PST by bigbob

It’s been nearly three months since Jesse Jackson Jr. resigned from Congress, but now NBC News confirms that Jackson has signed papers in a plea deal within the past several days. Jackson’s case is being handled by the US Attorney’s office in Washington DC. While no public announcement is expected today, those with knowledge of the investigation believe the loose ends now deal with Jackson’s wife, former Alderman Sandi Jackson, and whether or not she is ultimately charged. Under the terms of the deal Jackson signed, he pleads guilty and his fate – as to jail time – would be in the hands of a federal judge, not yet assigned. He would repay the government hundreds of thousands of dollars – for items like the $40,000 Rolex watch, travel expenses for a woman he described as a “social acquaintance” and furniture purchased for his home. Converting campaign contributions for personal use is strictly prohibited by federal law. It opens Jackson up to “not more than 5 years” in prison.

I wish we had twitter and Facebook like features so I could easily put this comment up on both of my accounts.

Nevertheless, the scramble is on to make sure the “right” federal judge is assigned to the case. Like one who previously defended the Rainbow Coalition when they were an Attorney (or some similar set of corrupt circumstances that present a clear conflict of interest).

The more we hear about this, the more I suspect that Jackson’s “clinical depression” was just a ruse to escape (or at least delay and mitigate) prosecution.

Pardon is only granted after the time has been served for a federal sentence. Obama could not grant him a pardon, because whether he serves time or not, the time served with the sentence must be expired before a pardon can be granted. Obama will not be in after the 5 years. ( I could be wrong about the pardon time served, but generally that is how it has been done.)

Yes it looks as if he is but now the question is whether or not his wife (an alderman?) will join him.

Or the Senate Majority leader entering the Senate as a pauper and now a multi-millionaire.

Whenever these crooks are ordered to pay a fine I always wonder where the money comes from.

I talked to a guy from a moving company that moved young Jesse to D.C. when he was first elected. He said Jackson was the dumbest person he’d ever met. He also said every piece of furniture was white. I don’t know what that means.

Jesse Jackson Jr. is now just one more convicted felon who opposes the right of law-abiding people to own guns.

Usually when the Feds reach a plea deal with someone connected to a big fish part of the deal is that the accused spills his guts about that big fish.we can be damn sure that our esteemed (but not by me) Attorney Corporal made sure that no such clause was included in *this* plea deal.As a result on he and Blago will pay the price for the sale of Osama Obama’s Senate seat.

A plea deal that none of us would get, no doubt.

Will he be doing his prison time (if any) in a prison medical facility that has accommodations for loonies?

He gave that to his short-term girlfriend, the woman with the long blond hair, can't remember her name. The women folks in his district (and they ALL voted for him) had to draw the line on this particular discretion...you DON'T associate with white women AND give them expensive gifts. And the voters began to turn sour on him and the rest will be history.

Good, another politician from Illinois who will be going to the big house. And how embarrassed Jessie must be....but at the same time relieved that it wasn't him the Feds were after. Jesse can look fondly at his family's history of a half-brother and a son who have/will do time in the pen.

Hopefully, Jesse will next get his turn. Never say never!

“like Rosie O’Donnell on a toilet seat”.

The above is a clear case of sadism. My wire brush turned out to be corroded, and the bleach bottle is nearly empty - so, how can I clean that disgusting image from my brain.
