Panetta being questioned by Congress regarding Benghzi.
Question is.....why in the HELL get involved in Libya in the first place???? And if so, why wasn’t there proper backup considering the region is so volatile. You don’t set up an embassy (compound) without proper backup within reach.

the mouths of Panetta and Demsey which reveals

Dempsey agains says Ham was very good about reporting the deteriorating security situation.
Says threat streams in Libya similar to other threats happening at the same time.
Says he does not put military resources in to a country unless requested by host country.
folks, this is all bullsh@t. Stevie Wonder could have foreseen a problem and prepared accordingly. These jokers are going to skate, unless someone nails them with a moment by moment admission of what happened and who decided what to do or what not to do.

But the fact remains that DOD is not responsible for security for our diplomatic missions. That is strictly a State Department function.

“DOD role to be 911”.
Should Libya have been “911”, he says?
With this softball, Panetta returns
to his apparent view that the answer
is ‘yes’. He waves his hand in the air
(like his answer), and Donnelly seems
satisfied.
An embassy is American territory, is it not?
Are there not sensitive materials there? that is why then.marines are there.
Of 220 different facilities, how many need military protection, that are in situations that require more protection? Ten percent?
Regardless, there was an attack on our State Department AND CIA facilities in Benghazi the same night. 37 Americans were there and needed protection.
Who were they supposed to rely on—Achmed’s rent a Guard?
And with the deteriorating security situation in Benghazi,, not one professional SOD or State Department official could foresee what was going to happen?
None of this should be a question after the 1979 Iranian hostage situation.
This is all dissembling and lying on the part of
Dempsey and Panetta.
The truth is, the reality is, that to cover up what was happening for why Stevens was even there. Is that our President and His entire Administration was willing to sacrifice the lives of ALL 37 Americans there that night in order to cover the arms running to Syria through Turkey.
I feel like sending them all Wet Ones to clean their lips after all the @ss kissing taking place today.
