Sure, the retail "investors" are coming back into the "markets"... They are coming back in shifts. And just so they know what to expect, here is what happened to Apple stock in the last second of regular trading today, courtesy of Nanex. Unlike traditional flash crashes where the trade is an HFT error, or a few shares traded through the entire bid or offer stack, in this case it looks like a very premeditated unloading of some 800K shares (some $350 million worth) of AAPL in the last second, with the full knowledge it was shake the market. Why anyone would want (or wait until the very last second) to do that, while covering the offsetting ES short in the pair trade, to ramp the market into the close, is anyone's guess.

Panic? Cash flow? War?
Possibly impending bad news.
Those lads and lasses are in a panic mode.
Sry should read AAPL
Sometimes there is an pre-arranged fund-to-fund transfer. When it is sent all-or-none in the last seconds then nobody else has a chance at it. Plus it looks like the market closed down for the day when in actuality it was just one trade.
Didn’t algore sell some 60000 shares last week? Hmmm... What did he know and when did he know it?
I know he exercised a stock option to buy 60,000 shares at a very low price, but did he *flip* it right away?
If he did, there are questions, I would think..............Not that AlGore would do anything unethical, LOL.
Oh, and Eff Obama!
You gave me an unexpected chuckle, the very best kind! Thanks.
good idea....you could start a daily finance and investments thread same as there is a daily Rush Limbaugh thread
I have to admit for some reason I don’t like apple
Never try to ‘catch a falling knife’, FRiend.
I got burned that way in 2008.
Apple makes a good product, but they are too restrictive. They own everything you buy, not you. I also can’t do without Flash Player. When thirsty iPhone came out, they said Flash was a thing of the past and HTML5 is the wave of the future. Here we are 6 years later and you still can’t access any streaming websites without Flash. This is a big deal being w fan of Old Dominion University sports as they aren’t on TV often so I have to stream it and send it to the TV. Oh, that’s the other thing I hate about Apple. I can stream my phone to the TV with a $7 micro hdmi to hdmi cord that is compatible with any future device I get. Apple requires you to buy a $100 Apple TV... then you have to buy adapters to each Apple device. I admit Apple is of high quality, but they got too greedy for my business. I’ll take Android with the quirks.
If you guys decide to do a stock thread, sign me up! I’m a Gold & Silver-bug, so I’d like to laugh at your worthless paper- devalued dollar trades all day long...
JUST KIDDING!
I’m in the market a little bit, but mainly hard assets for this gal...gold, silver, lead, land. ;)
“...Flash Dump...”
Heh, I thought it was a new piece of hardware... duh.
Hmmmm..... this sounds like something scary that we should ban right away!

I know. I agree. They are way too proprietary
Hmmmm..... this sounds like something scary that we should ban right away... for everyone else's safety!

Sounds like you should start a ping list :)
I’d be very interested in that since I am essentially starting over from next to nothing.
