RIVERDALE Pictures of a man carrying a rifle inside a big box store in Riverdale are raising a lot of eyebrows. The woman who took them tells KSL the man had no business bringing the gun where he did.
It was supposed to be just a regular trip to the JC Penney. Wednesday night, Cindy Yorgason was in line to return something when she saw a man with some pretty heavy fire power.
"He had the assault rifle over his shoulder," Yorgason said. "He had a handgun on the right side of his belt along with at least one additional clip."
She got out her phone after she said "a couple of other customers started to raise their eyes and look at this guy like, Is he crazy?'"
She never felt threatened, but she believes a place like JC Penney is an inappropriate place to bring a weapon.

Well i would imagine unless he had eyes in the back of his head he wouldn’t know who had another exposed weapon in the store!
And why would a perp shoot at the man next to him don’t you think he would be the first target!
The whole thing was an immature move in my book! I am a Vet and have been around weapons all my life! Whatever it was I do not condone this behavior!
And I feel it sends the wrong message to gun control advocates!
What if the guy decided the store clerk pissed him of and decided to go ballistic! You’re right I don’t know what he was thinking and the other store patrons did not either!
I have a feeling they did not feel they were in a safe mode!
There commentary was along the lines of:
"When we saw this photo, we were as shocked as anybody.
Who still shops at JC Penney?"
If they prohibit weapons they have to post it on the door. Frankly I wouldn’t go to Riverdale without a Ma Deuce mounted on my car. :)
So what you're saying is that anyone who carries a weapon, when they get 'pissed off', they shoot, anyone carrying a weapon is up to no good. ok.
Good thing our dear leader signed 23 EOs in the nick-o-time. I feel 100% safe now.
I hope more people take up Mr Yellow shirt's example.
No I was just stating a fact that no one in that store knows what is on the mind of anyone has a weapon in a store! And you wouldn’t either!
With the events of the last month I would feel apprehensive myself!
I did not say he was up to no good.
I also thought this site was to be informative and to post an opinion of what happened, not to receive a personal attack because of an opinion!
I guess I was wrong and will limit myself to reading the posts of the few here that concern themselves with posting information and opinion without interjecting what you think I said! Nuff said now go jam someone else!
Here in New England, just about every school basement had a shooting range; boys would bring their .22LRs and prop them up in the coat room, until they went to practice after school. I used to be sooooooo jealous of those lucky guys!
If your teacher was real *strict*, she might make you leave your ammo on her desk, for the day, otherwise the ammo stayed in your pocket.
How many times do we hear about kids make a *gun* with their fingers, and are suspended from school. I’m getting zero-tolerance for those who would change the Constitution on a whim.
Lick spittle. Go to DU, you’ll find comfort.
Horse sh**! This was common practice when I was a boy and a young man. Things started changing and gradually became worse after Kennedy and his idiot brother were killed. No one batted an eye back in the 40s, 50s and early 60s when someone carried a rifle or handgun around in public. In fact many stopped and talked to him/her about the gun. This needs to become normal once more. There is nothing wrong with it at all, except for the brain washing the MSM and public education has subjected the public to over the last 50 or so years.
Judging by your comment you have allowed yourself to become infected with the PC BS of the left against guns.
You keep bringing this up although the article nor the comments are about carrying on private property that has forbidden people to carry arms on their property. JC Penny in this case had no ban on arms being carried, the man carrying was not arrested, so he was breaking no laws. You are using an argument that has no bearing on carrying firearms openly in states where it is legal and it should be legal in all states as it once was.
You are a coward who wants to stand behind a condition that didn't exist in this case. Grow up or become a liberal, you are more than half way to being one now and a long way from being an a courageous adult.
That's the part I wanted to preserve. Due to publicity and liberal mewling that will probably change that due to store liability reasons. That screws it up for the CCWs. There is a difference between JCPenny at the mall and the Erma saloon in Cody Wyoming where I saw (and approved) of open carry. A person should choose their fights (about rights) carefully or you regress. Then wonder why.
Good one!
Not only that, but for much of our nation's history carrying concealed was the act of a criminal who was attempting to conceal his evil intentions. Many states do not regulate open carry but require a permit to carry concealed.
Great point william. There’s a reason it was called cloak and dagger and it didn’t have a positive connotation in the use of the term. Free men are not afraid to exercise their rights granted by god.
Looking back maybe the cops were talking about that he had ammo on stripper clips. Although, I sure have never heard stripper clips referred to as “high capacity clips” but it’s possible. Anything is possible with this gang that can’t shoot straight.
Maybe “High Capacity Stripper Clips”? You just can’t make this stuff up!
Whoops! Wrong thread. So Sorry
I was trying to be funny. I thought you were too. Never heard of a “banana magazine” in my entire 51 years of life. I guess there is a first time for everything!
Yeah, I thought you were, but couldn’t see the joke, since I didn’t know you were unaware of “banana” applied to curved mags.
I don’t care if it was legal for him to do so. Idiots like this, and the ones walking the streets of Portland with guns strapped to their backs in order to “educate” people, are HURTING the pro 2nd amendment movement,,,not helping it. With all the nut bags crawling out of the woodwork, if I see strangers on the street, or in a store, with assault rifles strapped on their backs, I’m going to find some cover. I’m not going to walk up to them to be “educated.” I’m starting to wonder if these people are liberal plants doing it to make pro 2nd amendment movement look bad.
One of the reasons mentioned by the idiot Politicians was that Sheeple were fearful seeing a sidearm in plain sight and oh yeah, the Cops might shoot you by accident.
Then, just to confirm stupidity is a hallmark of Liberal thinking, they just banned Open Carry of Long Guns. I think you need special dispensation to carry your .22 from your House to your Car.
And to think as a Child we played Army using an authentic looking Toy M1 Carbine and a really cool looking Toy Tripod Mounted Machine Gun. Nowadays, the Cops would go nuts.
